Dreams Do Come True

Chapter 24

AJ's P.O.V.

I wake up around 9am and go down to the kitchen for some breakfast. I get into the kitchen and get a bowl out of the cupboard and the cereal out of the pantry. Setting them on the counter, I get into the fridge to grab the milk.

I sit on one of the stools, eating my cereal, when I hear footsteps making their way towards me. I look up to see Autumn and Ayden dressed and looking like they have been up for hours, unlike me who looks like a homeless person.

"Well good morning sleeping beauty. How did you sleep?" Ayden asks

"Does any of this look like beauty to you?" I say gesturing towards myself with a flat look as he starts laughing.

"Well no... But I asked, trying to be nice. Obviously someone is a meany butt this morning." He says while he stuck his tongue out at me with a hint of humor in his eyes.

"Only for you." I say, rolling my eyes with a smile growing on my face.

"Anyway, I'm going to head out. I have a meeting at the high school with the principal about getting you enrolled. On my way back, I'll stop and pick us up some lunch. I will call you to see what you guys want." Autumn says, picking up her purse that's on the counter.

"Ok, bye." Both Ayden and I say at the same time. We look at each other and laugh.

Autumn rolls her eyes at our weirdness and says bye. She turned around and walked down the hall. I heard the door going into the garage shut as I finished my cereal.

"So, what do you want to do?" Ayden asks as I put away my bowl and spoon after washing them.

"I don't know, what is there to do." I say, shrugging my shoulders.

Ayden sits at the island with his chin on his hand in thought.

"We could go into the living room and watch TV." He says after a minute.

"Sure." I say, nodding my head and making my way around the island.

We walk out of the kitchen and go to the living room. We make ourselves comfortable on opposite ends of the couch. He grabs the remote, turns on the tv and selects Netflix. We sit in silence as he scrolls through all the movies and tv shows.

"How about we watch this?" Ayden asks, stopping on a show called Shameless. I read the overview that tells me what the show is about.

"Ok, it seems interesting enough." I tell him, nodding my head. He nods his head, agreeing with me and presses play so the show will start.

We were probably on the fourth episode or so when the door to the garage opens to Autumn coming in with bags of food and a stack of papers in her hands. I got up off the couch to help her, noticing that she was about to drop one of the bags.

I take the bags to the kitchen with Autumn and Ayden following and set the bags down on the table in the dining room. Autumn sets her purse down on the table next to her seat and sits down. Ayden and I sit as Autumn is handing out our food to us.

"So, how did the meeting go?" Asks Ayden as he takes a bite out of the burger that Autumn got him from Wendy's.

Autumn finishes the fry that she was chewing and wipes her fingers on a napkin.

"The meeting went well, lucky for us there was an opening. We went over AJ's transcript and talked about the classes that she will be put into. I did mention about you being put into a music class, he said that he will see what he could do." She says, looking at me.

I nod my head so she knows that I'm listening to what she is saying as I eat my food. I hope that I'm able to get into a music class, music is the one thing that keeps me sane.

"Once everything was set and done, he said that you could start as early as Wednesday. I requested that your first day be Monday so that way you have time to get used to being here and get more comfortable here and the area." She tells me.
