Ezra was sitting in the middle of the make shift living room with Kona in his lap. He was brushing her fur and talking to her.
"So Kona, that's everyone on the ship! Sabine is the really nice one that likes to paint, Hera is the one that let me keep you, she is the pilot. Kanan is the guy who was with her, he is training me to be a Jedi! Zeb is the jerk that said you were a walking ball of fur and that you will just get in the way, and then there is Chopper. That stupid droid that Hera was trying to tell me was a pet. But you're way better!" Ezra said, hugging the puppy to his chest. Kona barked happily and licked Ezra's cheek.
"Uhg... Do we really have to keep that thing, Hera?" Zeb asked Hera, as they both walked into the room together.
"Yes, Zeb. Ezra had been taking very good care of Kona, so he can keep her." Hera said, walking over to the couch and sitting down.
"I wasn't talking about the dog..." Zeb mumbled.
"Hey! I heard that!" Ezra shouted.
Zeb rolled his eyes and sat down at the table.
"Whatever! I just don't want that dog in my room!" Zeb said, crossing his arms.
"Well too bad! It's my room too, and now it's Kona's as well." Ezra said, as he scratched the puppy behind her ear.
Zeb growled. "No! She can sleep in the cargo hold! I'm not having that ball of fur in my room!"
"Zeb! Ezra is allowed to keep Kona in his room! And if you don't like that, sleep on the couch." Hera snapped.
Zeb sighed. "Fine."
Ezra smiled and looked back down at Kona, who was running around him in a circle barking.
"What is is, girl?" Ezra asked, watching Kona run around in circles barking. That's when Kona started barking underneath the couch, and a bug came running out.
"AHHHHH!" Ezra screamed, jumping onto the table. "KONA! KILL IT!" Ezra screamed to the puppy, who obeyed her master and stepped on the bug.
Ezra sighed. "Thank you! Good dog!" Ezra said as he crawled off of the table and pet the puppy on her head.
"Ezra, that bug was smaller than my nail!" Zeb said. "And you hurt my ear when you screamed!"
"Too bad! Bugs are gross and I don't like them. If you do, I don't know what galaxy you're from." Ezra said as he turned and walked back to his room, with Kona in his arms.
That's when Zeb got and idea.
(A/N- SORRY EZRA)20 minutes later...
Ezra was sitting on his bed rubbing Kona's belly, when he heard some skittering in the vents above him. Ezra looked up at the vent opening above his head, which was a mistake. A bug fell out of the grating and landed between his eyes.
"AHHHHH!" Ezra screamed, shaking his head and scooting backwards. "KONA! GET IT!" Ezra yelled, jumping off of his bed.
Kona chased the bug, and finally managed to kill it after it kept slipping out from underneath her paws.
Ezra took the puppy off of his bed and scratched her behind the ears. "Good girl! Now come on, let's go to the cockpit. I doubt there are any bugs in there."
In the cockpit...
Zeb was sitting in his chair with a wide, evil grin on his face, that Kanan had noticed.
"Zeb? Not to be all up in your business, but... Why are you smiling like that? It's creeping me out." Kanan said.
"Oh no reason. I just found a way to scare Ezra out of my room along with that fur ball." Zeb said, his grin growing wider.
"Kona? Kona is cute!" Kanan said.
"And soft!" Hera added.
"Whatever. I put a bunch of bugs in different parts of the vents so they will crawl out and land on him." Zeb said, leaning back in his chair with the evil grin still plastered on his face.
"Hey, guys." Ezra said as he walked into the cockpit and sat down in his seat.
"Hey, Ezra." Sabine said, smiling slightly. "Seen any bugs today?"
"Yes, actually. One fell out of the vents into my face when I was on my bed. But Kona killed it like a good dog!" Ezra said as he set Kona down, and she ran to her dog bed.
"Awe! She's so sweet!" Hera said.
"Yea... A lil' too sweet..." Zeb said, glaring down at the puppy.
"Well, I think it's nice that Kona loves Ezra. He has something to do other than bug us!" Kanan said as he turned back to the controls.
"Whatever." Ezra said, looking down at the puppy.
That's when there was skittering in the vents above Ezra.Zeb smirked. "Speaking of bugs..." That's when a large bug fell out of the vents above Ezra, and landed on his shoulder.
"AHHHH! KONA!" Ezra screamed, falling out of his seat. "KONA KILL IT!"
Kona jumped out of her dog bed and started barking. She jumped at the bug on Ezra's shoulder, and knocked the bug off of his shoulder with her paw. Afterwards, she stomped on it.
"Good girl, Kona!" Ezra said, sitting up and scratching her back. Kona barked happily, licking Ezra's arm.
Sabine smiled. "She really does love you! Who knew that was possible?" Sabine said sarcastically.
Ezra glared up at her, and Kona growled.
"Hey! I was kidding!" Sabine said, patting Kona's head, and her tail started to swing back and forth.
"So that thing protects you from bugs?" Zeb sighed. "Ok... Well are you afraid of snakes?" Zeb asked.
"ZEB!" Hera growled, turning her chair to face Zeb. "NO! YOU ALREADY COVERED MY SHIP IN BUGS! NO. SNAKES!" Hera shouted.
"But I don't want that fur ball in my room!" Zeb complained.
"Oh well! She sleeps at the end of my bed on her little bed, she won't bother you!" Ezra stated.
Zeb growled. "Fine! But don't be surprise if you wake up and she isn't there anymore..."
Kona glared up at Zeb, and she started to growl. She pinned her ears back and barked at him.
"Hey! Ezra! Get your fur ball under control!" Zeb shouted, growling at Kona.
"Kona, sit." Ezra said. Kona obeyed, still growling at Zeb. "Good girl!" Ezra scratched Kona's head.
Zeb growled back at Kona. "Can I PLEASE kill this thing?!"
"No!" Kanan said sternly. "Ezra has followed the rules Hera set, and has taken very good care of Kona."
"Once again, I wasn't talking about Kona!" Zeb said.
Ezra growled. "You're a jerk, Zeb."
Zeb sighed and leaned back in his chair as he looked down at Kona. "Whatever."
Kona barked as she ran and jumped onto Ezra's lap. She laid her head down and fell asleep. Ezra smiled.
"You got lucky with her." Hera said, turning her seat around to the controls.
"I know!" Ezra said happily.
A/N- WHO LOVES KONA?! It makes me really happy to write about here! And- like I said in my last authors note, she is odd eyed! One blue eye, (right eye) and one green eye (left eye)! She had a wild spirit and loved to run, she had lots of energy and, as you can see was very loyal. She is black, grey and white; the top of her is black and it runs down the top of her muzzle, there is a grey-ish stripe that separates the black from the white, and her underbelly and legs are white. Hope you guys like her! Bye! ~Kaylie :)
