THE ARRANGED LOVE STORY

EPISODE 32

Ranbir and Prachi were waiting for their respective assistants with a somber expression. After knowing the truth, they had discussed and decided what would be done next.

There was a knock on the door. 

"Come in" Ranbir said gravely.

Aryan and Shahana entered with slow steps. They were scared stiff.

"Do you know why you are here?" Prachi asked.

They nodded in affirmation.

"Since you have had the audacity to plot behind our backs, be ready to face the consequences." Ranbir said.

"We are extremely sorry. We didn't mean any harm." Shahana apologized.

"Yes sir, we would have stopped immediately if either of you had been uncomfortable or troubled." Aryan explained.

"We have already thought about the situation and reached to a conclusion. So, our decision is final and would not change." Ranbir was determined.

"Shahana, please clear away all your personal belongings from your table. You no longer hold the position of my assistant." Prachi declared.

"The same applies to you too Aryan." Ranbir stated.

"Please don't fire us. We promise to never do so again." Shahana said with tears brimming up in her eyes.

"This job matters a lot to us. Kindly give us a last chance." Aryan pleaded.

Their words had no effect on the hard features of their bosses. Aryan sighed in despair. He needed to find a new job. He turned back to leave the office forever and dragged Shahana with him.

"Shahana, by when will you shift your belongings to the upper floor?" Prachi questioned just as they had reached the door.

"Huh?" they turned around with confusion written on their faces.

"I thought you knew that the designers occupy the upper floor of our office." Prachi replied.

"Designer?" Shahana still couldn't understand the implications.

"Yeah. I had a look at your designs and think that you deserve someone be a designer in out company rather than my assistant." Prachi smiled.

"Aryan, you too should shift your belongings to the floor assigned to the architects." Ranbir added.

"That.....that means you aren't angry on us?" Aryan enquired hopefully.

"Then what do you think we are giving you promotion for even after knowing that probably we won't get any assistant as efficient as you?" Ranbir cocked his eyebrows.

"Why did you decide not to punish us?" Shahana was inquisitive.

Ranbir and Prachi glanced at each other and smiled.

Flashback ~

"I can't believe that they had actually conspired to set us up." Prachi exclaimed.

"Do you think we should take actions against them for this?" Ranbir asked.

"I was wondering about something else. What made them do this? They won't have any personal benefit if we are together." Prachi thought aloud.

Ranbir frowned his eyebrows as if to recall something.

"A-ha! I think they had done this so we become lovesick and they get some free time." Ranbir explained.

"How are you so sure?"

Ranbir explained her about the time when Aryan had almost cried when he had given him a day off. Prachi too remembered how Shahana would was the happiest when she had a holiday. Melancholy settled over them at the thought of them overworking their assistants do much that they had become desperate for a holiday. 

"Have you ever scolded for Aryan without any fault of his?" Prachi enquired. 

"I guess a lot of times. Once I was in a bad mood and had  scolded him for not highlighting the clauses though I had not asked him to do so." Ranbir remembered. "What about you?" 

"Once I was under stress and had scolded Shahana for bringing ice-cream with my lunch. When she reminded me that I was on a diet, I said that it was my cheat day and she ought to know that." Prachi narrated. 

"Since we have made them suffer so much, we must reward them for their hard work." Ranbir suggested and Prachi readily agreed to it. 

Flashback ends

"Thank you so much." they thanked their respective bosses for their kindness. 

"No. We should thank you for helping us find love which would never have happened without you." Prachi pointed.

"All is well that ends well and our Arranged Love Story has ended on a happy note." Ranbir remarked making everyone smiled widely.
