EPISODE 15

Ranbir was disappointed. When Aryan informed him that a show was a success, he had expected a call from Prachi. But, she neither called him nor sent a message.

As he was pondering over it, his phone rang. But, I was Aryan instead of Prachi.

"Yes?" Ranbir said.

"Sir, I got held up here. There was a problem." Aryan informed him.

"What? You said that the show went well." Ranbir was concerned.

"The show was excellent. It's something else......"

"What?" Ranbir asked impatiently.

"You remember Ravi Verma? The one we met at Mr. Khurana's party."

"Who? The garbage guy?"

"Precisely him, sir."

"What did he do?" Ranbir asked in an annoyed tone.

"He brought Ronit Malhotra as his showstopper...." Aryan hesitated a bit before continuing. "He is Prachi ma'am's......ex."

Ranbir went quiet. A sudden pang of anger surged in him.

"What did he do?" Ranbir hissed.

"He came to meet Prachi ma'am. When me and Shahana went to see ma'am, he was there and ma'am was visibly upset. Then, he started taunting us and questioned ma'am's credibility as a boss as she had let her assistant's boyfriend stay at the backstage." Aryan also felt the same irritation while remembering the incident.

"And? What did Prachi say?"

"Umm....she didn't say much." Aryan was nervous. "I did!"

"What!" Ranbir was surprised. "What did you say?"

"Uh...." Aryan gulped. "I wasn't exactly nice to nice to him."

"There was no necessity to be. Aryan, tell me what exactly did you say?" Ranbir asked sternly.

Aryan repeated the entire conversation word by word.

Honestly speaking, Ranbir actually felt proud of Aryan. If he would have been there, Ronit would have been in a hospital by now.

"Sir, this is the reason I called you. He said that he knew Varun sir. I am worried if sir will be angry."

"You did nothing wrong Aryan." Ranbir said a bit gently but quickly added harshly. "If he is really my brother's friend, which I doubt, then my brother needs better friends."

Aryan was relieved and grateful. "Varun sir wanted to cast him in his new album." Aryan reminded.

"Then he needs a better cast too." Ranbir responded.

"So, I won't be in any trouble?" Aryan asked hopefully.

"No one is going to do anything to you for doing the right thing." Ranbir said. "Not as long as I'm here!" Ranbir's voice was firm.

"Thank you sir." Aryan's respect for his boss increased.

"Hmm......How is Prachi?" Ranbir asked in a soft voice.

"She went to her room without saying anything. We are a bit worried. So, I'm still here."

"Mmm. You stay there. No need to come back and inform me immediately if there is any problem."

"Okay sir, thank you."

After the call, Ranbir got into thoughts.

He didn't feel digging up Prachi's past. It was something she should tell him herself.
