EPISODE 5

Shahana was excited. When Aryan messaged her to pack the suit, she was elated. It meant that Ranbir Kohli was interested in her boss. Things were going well till now.

"Ma'am, there is an invitation from Mr. Khurana to attend his annual charity event.", Shahana informed when she noticed that Prachi was in a relaxed state.

"He does that just out of formality." Prachi groaned. "There won't be people from our industry and besides Khurana just wants to show off."

"Uh... ma'am" Shahana took her chance. "I heard that Ravi Verma will attend the event too."

"All the more reason for me not to attend it",Prachi snorted.

"Ma'am..." Shahana called "He is trying to expand his business and also pull down yours."

"I know it already and don't want to waste mt my time talking about him."

"Ma'am, as your assistant, could I say.... a suggestion?" Shahana was nervous.

Prachi looked at her. Shahana rarely gave an opinion above her decisions. She usually obeyed without any questions.

"Yes." Prachi nodded.

Shahana smiled lightly. "Meeting different people, ecen not from out industry would help us develop better business relations. You declining the invitation will only help Ravi Verma to spread negatives about you. Your work is better than his but sometimes having contacts is useful. When people get to know you, they will definitely prefer you over him."

Prachi listened to her suggestion quietly and thought over it. She did have a point.

"Hmm" Prachi nodded. "I think I can take out some time for it."

Shahana smiled happily.

"But you should be also there." Prachi added.

"If course ma'am." Shahana said. "Would you like to choose a dress?"

"Yeah! Bring the catalogue of the latest party edition.", Prachi said.

"Okay ma'am", Shahana responded.

She was about to leave the cabin when she turned back and looked at Prachi.

"Ma'am, something surprising happened. We got a new regular customer, I guess!"

"Who is it?" Prachi asked, not looking up from her computer.

"Mr. Ranbir Kohli!"

Prachi's head shot up in surprise. She didn't know what to say.

"I think it's for the charity itself!"

"Oh!", Prachi said casually. "Good"

Shahana had expected a better response. But she was not disheartened.

She was just about to exit, when Prachi called out.

"How did you know?"

"Ma'am?" Shahana turned to her once again.

"How did you know that Mr. Ranbir bought it for the charity event?"

"His assistant messaged me....us", she quickly covered the slip up. "He said Mr. Ranbir is impressed with our collection and that he would be ordering from us in the future."

"Hmm. Bring the catalogue. "

"Okay ma'am!"

Shahana was even more excited. Now she only hoped that her boss would choose a gown matching with the suit.
