Lunch went fairly smoothly, which was unusual for me, today at least.
Since I worked the morning shift, I didn't have any other obligations for the day. I decided to take a chill day. So I grabbed my favorite book and went to my garden.
I was sitting there reading when Connor sat down next to me. "Whatcha reading?" I held up my book. "Pride and Prejudice. Nice. Have you read the zombie one?" "What do you want, Connor?"
"Are you free tonight?" "For what, exactly?" "It's Travis's birthday. We're throwing him a surprise party." I looked at him. "Please, Katie? It would mean a lot to him." I raised an eyebrow. "Fine."
"Thank you. It's tonight right after dinner, Miranda can help you find the place." "Miranda's in on this?" "What is there to be in on? It's a birthday party and she's invited as well."
"Fine." "Great! I'll see you there Katie Cat."
