I ran back to my cabin and put my book away and freshen up.
I brushed my hair and put on my favorite sundress, the only one I owned actually. It was pale blue with tiny white flowers all over it. I ran out of my cabin, so excited at the prospect of what was about to happen that I forgot to put on any shoes.
After what seemed like an eternity, but was in reality no more than 15 minutes, I finally arrived at the riverbank. I gasped when I saw Travis standing there with a bouquet of violets and a goofy grin on his face.
He spoke first. "I was starting to wonder if you would show, Katie Cat." "Travis..." I said, voice cracking. He handed me the flowers. "I have a soliloquy prepared, so sit down here." He said as he guided me to sit on a tree stump.
"Katie Gardner. You are, without a doubt, the most beautiful girl I've ever met in my entire life, inside and out. You're strong, and independent and kind. You can make beautiful flowers and plants out of just dirt and water and seeds. If I tried that I would just end up with a muddy seed." "I'll teach you." I whispered.
He smiled. "I know you will. And that is exactly why I love you. I love you Katie. I love you. I love you. I love you." I tried to speak, but my voice failed me. So I did the only other thing I knew to do.
I kissed him.
