I felt my hand quake as I held the lantern feebly in front of me. Why am I shaking? I thought, grabbing my forearm with my other hand. Am I... scared?
"Elliot." Levi's voice made me look at him. I increased up my pace to reach him, and walked side by side to my brother. I hummed, acknowledging his call. "Stay on the look out. Kirschtein just spotted one that was asleep in the shadows. Let's make sure we don't run into any of those new moonlight titans."
I nodded, gritting my teeth and gripping my lantern tighter. "I'll hold Jupiter from now on, Aniki." I said, sensing he was tiring himself out with 2 horses. "Give me his rein."
He was hesitant at first, but gave into the fact that he'd have to save his energy for later. I gave him a small smile as he handed me the leather strip, pulling Jupiter slightly closer to me. The stallion nuzzled his nose into my cheek and I used my free hand to pat his matted fur.
"I can see the foot!" One of the front Scouts called after having seen the wall that separated them from Shiganshina. I looked ahead as the sun slowly rose on the far horizon, lighting up the wall.
Something wrenched in my heart as we stepped closer and closer to the district. This was where most of my memories came from. Where I met Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. Where... she died.
I gulped and turned to look at the trio behind me. Eren's lips were pursed into a sort of uncomfortable distaste, and Armin's eyebrows dipped like a sad child, his mouth forming a pout. Mikasa's expression was passive as ever, but her eyes gave away her solemnity at seeing her home.
"The sun is rising. Approach the wall with care!" Levi shouted over the heads, receiving a chorus of nods and nervous gulps.
It was now or never.

"This is going to be easy, don't worry!" The blond man said, scratching his hairy chin.
The boy next to me, and I shook our heads. "But, Zeke... you must be wary of 3 people."
The man tilted his head in confusion. He nodded, to let me continue. "As much as they have Eren's titan, they have 3 incredibly skilled soldiers. It's not a surprise that the three of them are also Ackermans - one of the successful byproducts of titan science."
Zeke's eyes widened at the thought. The Ackermans are still alive? I thought they were killed decades ago from persecution. Yet, he still nodded his head, beckoning for his friends to continue speaking.
"Their names are Captain Levi, Mikasa, and Elliot." The tall boy next to me said, rolling his shoulder causing a popping sound. "Do not underestimate them - they have defeated us on multiple occasions. Even the youngest one, Elliot, is powerful."
Zeke pursed his lips in thought. "Are their hosts going to be on the same mission?" He asked.
The taller boy nodded. "Mikasa's is Eren himself. But you should be wary of Levi - his host is on the verge of death - and, even more so, Elliot."
"Why? What's so special about her?" Both of the us looked at each other then the fire that was starting to ebb away in the cold morning air. "Hey, kids, you're starting to worry me, now, heh..." He trailed off, slightly put on edge.
Finally I spoke, grim faces plastering our expressions.
"She's bonded to... Annie."
