On their way towards the table, Mike couldn’t stop staring at Des. She looked so happy, and so beautiful. She had the most amazing smile in the world. As John Green would say, “That smile could end wars and cure cancer.” He chuckled to himself for being so lame.

Once they finally reached the picnic table Des noticed how beautiful the setup was. The table was in the middle of a beautiful field. It was isolated, but that was perfect.

“My lady,” Mikey smiled, gesturing towards her seat. She sat down and smoothed out her dress as Michael walked to sit at the other side.

“So this may be ‘cheesy’, but our first real gathering was over pizza, so I figured this would be appropriate,” Michael giggled revealing a box of pepperoni pizza.

“Not as ‘cheesy’ as the joke you just made, but yay my favorite,” Des cheered in excitement. The couple plated up some pizza and grabbed their soda (health fanatics, I know). As they did this Des heard the soft sound of a guitar off in the distance.

“Mikey? What is that?” she grinned at the boy.

“Since we both love music so much, I figured we could have some live music for our date,” he grinned at the excitement in her eyes.

“Oh my gosh, Michael you didn’t… Who even-“ Des started but was cut off by lyrics to one of her favorite songs.

“I’d give up forever to touch you, cuz I know that you’d feel me somehow…”  a familiar voice sang. Michael giggled at the tiny girl who hopped out of her seat and ran towards the music. Soon, she was met with a familiar pair of light green eyes.

It couldn’t be… This is a dream… She thought to herself, as Michael came up behind her and grabbed her hand.

“May I have this dance?” he asked an almost crying Des. She simply nodded her head as he pulled her in close. She brought her head to his chest as they danced to the cover of her favorite song. Every so often, she would look up to see the members of Sleeping With Sirens looking down from the stage, smiling at the happy couple.

“I can’t believe you did this for me,” she softly spoke into his chest.

“I would do anything for you beautiful,” he cooed back to her, kissing the top of her head. This was the perfect date. Des never wanted to let go of him, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
