“Get up you lazy bum!” Destiny’s best friend Catherine shouted at the small girl who was somehow sprawled out across her entire bed. “Noooo,” the sleepy brunette whined back, covering her face with her comforter. “It’s a big day Dessie! Get up! You need to get ready!” the red head shouted pack at her whilst throwing a pillow at her yawning friend. Destiny sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. “You’re not even ready,” she scowled at her friend who seemed to have forgotten she had to get dressed herself. “That’s because I’m too busy waking your lazy but up,” she responded, shaking off the comment even though Des knew it was just an excuse. Destiny giggled to herself and shrugged, “Whatever, I’m getting in the shower.” She stood up from her bed and unruffled her pajamas. “Wowwww. You look great,” Cat teased. “You have no room to talk,” she retorted whilst looking in the mirror and grimacing at her hair which had been disheveled from her slumber. “Get in the shower! You’re gonna be late,” the green eyed girl reminded her. “No I’m not! It’s still early!” Des shouted in defense. “Do you ever pay attention to how long it takes you to get ready?” Cat questioned the yawning girl. “True,” Destiny shrugged grabbing a towel and heading towards the bathroom.

After Destiny got out of the shower, she brushed her hair and teeth and headed towards her closet. This was the part of her morning routine that usually took the longest. The girl had all the clothes in the world, yet never knew what to wear. She scanned her closet, and ruffled her hair with her fingers while thinking. She didn’t want to look too formal, but it definitely wasn’t a sweatpants day. Today was special, and for that reason, her outfit had to be special as well. She looked over her closet once more, and her eyes settled on her favorite black skinny jeans, the perfect base for the perfect outfit. She tossed on a black tank top, and then yanked her purple flannel over top of it. She slipped on her combat boots, and went to have a look in her full length mirror. She smirked, pleased with her outfit, and went back to the bathroom and straightened her hair and put on her makeup. As she walked out and greeted her best friend with an adorable pose. “How do I look?” Cat looked up from doing her makeup and studied her adorable friend. “Wow! Surprisingly, really hot,” she smirked, winking at the girl who was rolling her eyes and letting out a little giggle. “Well, I’m gone for the day! Wish me luck!” she informed the feistier of the two, who was tugging on her own shoes at this point. “Okie dokie! See ya later,” she smiled back as Destiny walked out and closed the door.

Destiny got in her car and headed towards the studio. She had finally saved up enough money to pay for some recording time, and that is what made today so special. If she could get some of her music on a CD, she figured she could get more people to listen to it. Once she arrived at the studio, nervous and excited butterflies filled her stomach. She couldn’t believe this was finally happening. She just hoped everything would go well.

Des shyly walked in, and quietly told the lady at the front desk who she was. “You’re right on time! You’re in studio 2D,” the kind woman smiled at her. She shook her head and made her way to the studio. As soon as she got in the studio, she set up and started to record. She started to get really into the song she was singing, and she closed her eyes, and belted her favorite part of the song she had written. She finished the song and smiled to herself. Suddenly, she was startled by the sound of applause. She opened her eyes to see four fairly attractive boys standing in her private session. She jumped a little and sheepishly mumbled, “Um, who are you? This was supposed to be a private session,” she smiled shyly to let them know she wasn’t mad, just confused. One of the guys, who had brightly colored red hair, smirked and replied in what seemed to be an Australian accent, “Well I’m Michael. This is Calum, Luke, and Ashton,” the green eyed boy gestured towards his friends, “We’re in a band called 5 seconds of summer. We were in town recording and genius here told us 2D instead of 2B,” he informed her, motioning towards the blonde haired boy. “Oh, well then why did you stay?” she asked, confused. He giggled in response, “Well, we were about to leave, but then we heard your song, and that was something we just couldn’t ignore. You’re voice and lyrics are amazing!” She smiled and blushed, trying to keep her composure around these boys. They were all so cute. Especially Michael, there was something about him that was extra charming. She muttered out a thank you, and it’s really not that big of a deal. “Are you kidding? You’re amazing!” he shouted excitedly. “Well thank you,” she smiled, admiring the boy’s kindness. “Yeah! You should come by our place later!” the curly haired boy piped up. The other two shook their heads in agreement. “I mean, yeah, I guess so,” she smiled back, proud of her accomplishment. “Here is my number,” he winked, slipping her a piece of paper. She smiled back and waved, trying not to melt into a puddle. The boys walked out, needing to get busy recording their own music. They all smiled and waved goodbye as they left the studio. Mikey was the last one to leave. He turned around just as he reached the door and smiled and said, “I hope to see you again very soon. Oh! I was so mesmerized by your voice I forgot to ask your name!” She giggled and replied, “Ironically enough, my name is Destiny.” The boy smirked back, and with that, he was gone.

Destiny was basically in shock. She had no idea that things like these could really happen to a girl like her. Did Michael actually like her? Why would he like her? Des was always a little insecure. Those who knew her, loved her, but she was pretty shy, and usually lived her life in the shadows. Not many people really ever noticed her, unless they heard her sing. Cat always told her how perfect she was, but she never believed her, until now. As she thought of how Cat would tell her it was obvious why he would like Des, she snapped out of shock. Gasping, she pulled out her phone and pulled up her best friend’s number. Cat answered confused at why Des was calling her. “Hello?” the little ginger answered with a questioning tone. “Catherine! Meet me at Starbucks right now! Something amazing just happened to me and I have to tell you in person!” the girl excitedly demanded. “Alright! Be right there,” she excitedly answered, loving that her best friend always wanted to tell her things right away. And with that she packed up, thanked the woman at the desk, and left to meet with her best friend to tell her the amazing chain of events that had just happened.
