Des rolled into to the parking lot and hurriedly parked her little black car. She tried not to show the look of excitement on her face as she rushed into Starbucks. She was trying to play it cool, but everyone stared and made faces at her. She couldn’t have cared less. This was the best day of her life. “Dessie!” she heard her best friend shout across the almost empty Starbucks, “Be quiet Cat! We’re in public!” Des blushed profusely. “I don’t care where the hell we are! Start talking!” the petite ginger beamed, sliding into the seat across from her best friend. “Ok ok! Just calm down! Promise me you won’t freak out ok?” she attempted to keep her friend calm. “Des what in the world did you freaking do?” Cat was almost jumping across the table at this point. “Alright, so I was in the studio, and while I was singing, I got really into it and closed my eyes, but when I got done, I heard applause which made me really confused because it was suppose to be a private recording session,” she started to explain. “Omg Des, who was it? Just get to the point already!” the impatient girl shrieked out. “I’m getting there,” she put her hands up in defense, “So I opened my eyes and these four gorgeous boys were standing in front of me. So I asked them what they were doing in there, and the cutest one, in my opinion anyways, speaks up and tells me they’re in a band called 5 seconds of summer I think, doesn’t matter, anyways, they told me that they stayed in there because they loved my voice and they invited me over and I have their numbers and omg this is the best day ever!” Now that she was done rambling she was flashing the biggest smile Cat had ever seen her wear. Cat just sat there for a moment with her mouth wide open trying to process all of the information her best friend had just given her. “Well! Say something,” Des prompted. “Wow… Just oh my gosh. Dude that’s amazing!” “I know! I just can’t wait to hang out with them, they’re so cute and cool, oh and they’re Australian too! I’m gonna text Mikey and see if they’re cool with me bringing you with me, because you have to meet them!” she excitedly smiled at Cat. “Mikey huh?” she smirked, knowing that Des was obviously crushing hard. “Yeah, his name is Michael.” She sheepishly responded. “You have a crush on him don’t you?” Cat smirked. “Are you crazy? Of course not. We just met,” Destiny tried to play off her obvious affection for the boy, but it wasn’t working. Catherine saw right through her. She was her best friend so how could she not. “I mean he’s not even that cute. I mean he’s like tall and he has this basically Ariel red hair, and I mean it just looks so interesting and fluffy, and soft, like the kind of soft you just want to run your fingers through, and he’s all rugged and badass and…” she looked up to catch her friend smirking at her with a cocked eye brow that said “really?” “Okay whatever I do not like him!” she said, waving her hand in dismissal. “Whatever you say lover girl,” Cat retorted, giggling at her friend who was practically as red as the hair she had just described. “Let’s just go home and get ready! We’re having dinner with the boys at six,” she informed Cat, beaming and still trying to play it cool. “Awesome! I’ve got to meet this guy you’re practically in love with,” she nudged Destiny as they walked out of the shop together. “Oh hush,” Des replied, rolling her eyes.
