"I don't know how I get talked into these things," Zoe said to Sarah from her bedroom as she was getting ready to go out with her friends that night.
"You weren't talked into anything. You were out voted, there's a difference," Sarah said from her own bedroom. "Besides, you know you're only going because Colton's going."
"That is so not true," Zoe said. "I'm going out tonight because I doubt I'll be able to get out any other time in the next six weeks." She took a last look at herself in the mirror. She still had her hair in a high ponytail but had changed into her emerald green off the shoulder shirt. It fit tightly against her body and went to the top of her black, deconstructed skinny jeans. Her makeup was just a bit of mascara to highlight her green eyes and a soft pink lip gloss. She smiled at herself in the mirror and headed out to find Sarah in their living room. "Seriously, karaoke though?"
Sarah laughed. "Hey, we haven't done it in a while." She looked at Zoe. "I have always loved that shirt on you."
Zoe smiled at Sarah in her soft pink halter top, exposing her mid drift and her light blue jeans. Her blonde hair hanging in waves along her shoulders. "You look amazing."
Sarah smiled at her. "Thanks babe." Her phone buzzed. "Our Uber is here. Ready to sing it loud and proud?"
Zoe grabbed her wristlet and smiled at her roommate. "No, but a few drinks will take care of that problem." Sarah laughed as they headed out.
Once they got there, Zoe instantly spotted Natalie and Kristen at a large table. They waved as she and Sarah walked in. They joined the other women. "Where's everyone else?" Zoe asked.
"I'm sure they'll be here soon." Natalie said. "I'm heading to the bar."
"I'll join you," Zoe said. "I'm going to need a bit of liquid courage before I sing tonight." The women laughed as Zoe and Natalie headed for the bar. Once there, they placed their drink order. Zoe watched the stage as the DJ set out his music lists. "Who else is coming tonight?" she asked Natalie.
"Nadine and the guys. Apparently, Tuesday night is too early in the week to drink for everyone else," Natalie said as she waved her hands in the air. Zoe laughed as the bartender gave them their drinks. They made their way back to the table and saw Sarah and Kristen with a music book in front of them. "Oh, come on," Natalie said as they took their seats. "You're not even going to wait for everyone else?"
"Nope," Kristen said as she continued to look through the pages. She smiled as she found her song and wrote it down on the paper to give to the DJ.
"We're here!!" came from behind Zoe. She turned and saw Mack, Davis and Nadine walk in. Zoe smiled as they all took seats at the table. Davis kissed Sarah on the cheek as he took a seat next to her. Mack looked at the drink in front of Zoe and smiled. "Still need liquid courage to get up there, huh?"
"You know it," she said as she finished her drink. Mack laughed.
"Watch out, Zee's already started drinking," she turned and saw Adam and Colton walk in.
She smiled at them both. "Have to get ready to sing."
Colton looked at her as he took the seat next to her. "Not confident in your musical skills?" he asked as he smiled at her.
She shook her head. "I have an awful singing voice."
"No, you don't," Kristen said as she passed the book around the table. She looked at Colton. "She just says that as an excuse to drink."
Zoe laughed. "Yeah, like I need an excuse to do that."
The table laughed as Colton stood up. "In that case, this round is on me. What's everyone drinking?"
