The next day passed by quickly and it was boring for some, of course. People went to do their own thing from spell casting to pranks, from studying to homework, book reading to even more book reading.
Students had breakfast in the mornings as per usual and others skipped out on it because they had other things to do or they didn't eat breakfast.
Alexia sat with her friends during the time but she was more quiet than usual and Neville even tried to get her mind off of whatever was bothering her. He and her other friends had an idea on what it was.
Elizabeth noticed Alex's demeanor immediately and kept an eye on her while she was having idle chit chat with other staff. She planned on talking to her as soon as possible and hoped to help Alexia get back to her old happy self.
Hagrid remained outside to plant some pumpkins for Halloween that was coming up in less than a month and was thankful Calista volunteered to help him. She had always enjoyed helping him with whatever he needed help with and sometimes learned new things about new creatures he had.
Lavinia missed breakfast that day and Draco noticed when she didn't arrive in the Great Hall but it didn't bother him. He just carried on with the conversation he was having with Crabbe and Goyle. He wasn't worried about her, she's not his responsibility, he knows she can take care of herself, not like he cares or anything.
She walked the long corridor on the second floor and carried her spare cauldron with her. She ignored idle stares from other students and eyed a random couple sitting together on a bench before they looked up at her.
She casually looked away and went through the door to the supposed haunted bathroom. She briefly looked around when she entered and felt the gloomy air hit her like a breeze.
Lavinia heard a splash from a toilet stall and ghostly feminine laughter. She headed for the middle of the room and set down her cauldron along with her bag of spare ingredients she had on her since the first day.
She spotted the circular row of sinks and sauntered for it. She stopped before one of the mirrors and noticed it was dusty. She leaned forward and wiped off the dust to see her reflection.
Lavinia's blank expression stared back at her and she examined her straight, black hair covering one half of her face. She leaned forward again and lifted her hair out of the way to see her nasty, severe scars going from her temple to the side of her lips.
She stared at them through the mirror and felt her heart pounding. She heard screaming in her head and closed her eyes in alarm.
"Dad!"
Lavinia heard her brother's voice cry and gripped the edge of the sink as she had her eyes closed.
She remembered the fear she felt as her heart started beating extra hard and turned the faucet on to wash her hands. She closed her eyes again and felt her heart skip a beat as she remembered hearing a roar.
"Stay away from him."
"Lavinia! NO!"
She gently splashed water on her face and hunched over the sink. She closed her eyes yet again and tried to calm her thoughts.
Lavinia kept up her calm exterior and sat on the floor to get back in control of her emotions. She sat cross legged and began to meditate right in the middle of Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. She didn't even budge when she heard the sound of a ghostly wail and one of the sinks spraying before the sound of laughter echoed around her.
She flinched slightly as she tried to drown out the noises in the environment and frowned in concentration when the memory lingered. She took a deep breath and exhaled lightly.
