Nerak held me down harder with his foot as I tried to get out of it. His hand twisting mine. I growled and used my leg to kick his heel hard making him lose grip and took that as my opening to get up. I growled as I used the rock to hoist myself over his shoulder and pushed down till he was on the ground. I held the dagger to his neck. He let out a laugh, almost looking proud. Remy had given up on training with Nerak in the mornings after he started pushing us harder a moon ago.

I loved it. Every minute of it. "I am almost impressed" he takes my hand as I pull him up. Kaala stands up and walks towards me. "She hasn't left your side for a while now"

"She hasn't" I agree.

"We're going to train on the mountain tomorrow" he points at Mount Eiffe. "Same time. Be at its foot before sunrise" he says and leaves. I internally squeal at the compliment he gave me and get into the river for a bath. Kaala follows me in and we swim around for a bit. I dry off and rush to the hospital for my shift before I have to get back to training with the rest of the warriors.

"Are you a witch of some sort?" Kylaina asks me as we put up the ladders.

"Why would you ask that?" I chuckle.

"Because o' that wolf. I've seen it walk with you" her Eastern accent thick.

"I feed it. Of course it will walk with me" I brush it off.

"Are you not scared of it?" Hamra asks.

"She likes them more than people" Remy answers for me making us laugh in unison.

Nerak commands us to assemble and we begin our training. He was harder on all of us. I see Etym and Theffa walk the grounds and they eye me like they knew our secret making me nervous all over. Viktor and Kyrr were the only ones who knew. I catch them again looking my way and conversing with each other while eyeing me.

That evening when I go to the Palace, I see the handmaids bustle about arranging things. I quickly take the tray of tea and make my way to his quarters. I knock and hear him call for me to come in and when I enter, I see him rummaging through his trunk. I shut the doors behind me and he turns to look at me and then goes back to rummaging. "My mother's coming" he says and goes back to searching for something. "Theffa had the audacity to threaten her" he says with a clenched jaw.

"What? Is she okay?" I place the tray on the table.

"She is." he sighs loudly and turns "Iverynn's gone to bring her" he huffs loudly "I told Kal she shouldn't be there alone. They're vultures! All of them" he growls and his hands roll into fists.

"Hal..." I start and he turns to look at me pleadingly. He sighs loudly and sits down on top of the trunk that was closed beside what he was rummaging through. I walk towards him. "It's all going to be okay" I run my fingers through his hair as I stand between his legs. He shuts his eyes and opens them again and looks up at me.

"You keep away from them. If they come near you, you run the other way. Understood?" he says with seriousness.

"They were looking at me. Today. In training. For a minute I thought they knew about us" I sigh in relief.

"They do" he shrugs.

"What!?" I exclaim shocked.

"What?" he asks nonchalantly.

"What do you mean they know?" I step back to look at him properly.

"They know. It's not like I'm hiding it" he says as a matter of fact.
