Alexandra

"No?" I ask in disbelief. "I promise, I'll come back every morning and do whatever you need" 

"Say my name and I'll let you go" he smirks and I get nervous. Remy was here. Viktor was here and so was Kyrr. He strides towards me and stands dangerously close to me. "Say it Lexie" my name rolls off his tongue like it was the most habitual sound he made. "Say it" I can feel his voice through my body. 

"I...I.." I can feel the hair at the back of my neck stand as I can feel his presence almost envelop me. He was all consuming. Even back then. I was devastated when he went away. I had felt physical pain when he left. I had promised myself I would never let myself give into someone like that again. Yet, here he was and I felt myself giving in. 

"Lexie..." I feel his hot breath by my ear. His lips touch the shell of my ear. "Say it" his teeth gently nip my earlobe. I feel my breathing get shallower by the second. 

"H.. Hal" I manage. He stands up straight and looks into my eyes and his lips quirk into a smile. 

"I'll see you tomorrow" he says and crosses his arms in front of his bare chest. I compose myself quickly and hurry out of his quarters.

Remy and I spend the whole time after dinner arranging our room. We go to dinner together and sit with Kyrr and Viktor. "So what is he like?" Remy asks. 

"Who?" I ask chewing my food. 

"Prince Hal" she says obviously. I stop chewing and look up at Viktor and Kyrr who stop eating too. I clear my throat and look at her. "So?" she asks. 

"He's uhh.. how you'd expect him to be" I shrug and continue eating. 

"Angry, rude, terrible?" Remy laughs. 

"Just, stoic and innately good" Kyrr answers before me. 

"What do you know about him?" Remy laughs. 

"I know that when Lexie needed saving.... he showed up and was just. He didn't care that the Generals were Prince Djolna's men. He got Lexie and Neev jobs in safer surroundings" Kyrr defends. 

"That's true" Remy remarks and gives me a side hug. "What is it like to be his handmaid?" 

"I'm the nurse. I probably just have to feed Kaala maybe.. I don't know" I shrug. We finish dinner and start walking back to our quarters. 

"Don't play with fire Lexie" Kyrr's voice pulls me out of my thoughts. 

"What?" I ask confused. 

"Don't fall in love with him again" he says and I look ahead at Viktor speaking to Mevte and Remy talking to Yriala. 

"I'm not" I lie. 

"Hey" he grabs my hand making me stop walking and look at him. "It was okay when we were kids. He truly loved you. But it's been ten years and they have rules. Rules that if broken could lead to another war" 

"I know" I say irritated. "I don't ... I don't love him" I lie again and he knows but doesn't push.

"Does it still hurt?" I ask Ledo while I check his knee. 

"It's better" he winces as he tries bending his knee. I help him get his leg up and give him the medication he needed before making my way to the next patient. I help the doctor suture the patient's wounds and spend the day working. 

"Officina Reeva" the Kryffa calls. I turn to look at him and hurry towards him and greet him. "His Highness is asking for his handmaid" he says and I nod quickly and make my way to the palace. I see Kaala come up near me. She playfully tries to get me to play with her.
