Alexandra

"No" Remy shakes her head with certainty making me laugh "Absolutely not!" she says almost horrified.

"Come on, she'll get thirsty" I laugh and she walks away hastily as I call out to her laughing. A woman keeps looking at me and I notice her. Nerak had put me in charge of recruiting women into the army. I smile at her coming down from my laugh "You alright?" I greet. She looks at me wide eyed. Now looking at her closer, she was the most beautiful woman I had ever set eyes on. The pails were heavy so I set them down. She turns to look behind her to check if I was really addressing her and I smile wider when she turns back raising my brows in question.

"Y...yes" she nods looking at me almost ...longingly?

"Were you looking for me?" I ask and her eyes widen again and she looks nervous. "Don't worry" I laugh "Nerak's not here and I'm easier to deal with. I can get you on the roll the moment I'm done delivering these to His Highness' wolf" I point to the pails of water. She looks at them and back at me.

"Can I give.. give you a hand with those?" she asks.

"Are you sure?" I ask and she nods sincerely. "Go on then" I hand her one picking it up and pick the other one sighing in relief. "Follow me" I smile and she smiles back. Her smile looked familiar. She looked like someone I had known in a previous life perhaps. I didn't recognise her, maybe she was from the Capital. "What are you called?" she pauses for a second.

"Issa" she replies.

"Alexandra" I introduce back "But everyone calls me Lexie" I open the gate and allow her to enter first and follow behind "Is Issa short for Raissa or Taissa?" I ask. I loved the names of the goddesses. I sometimes wished Miss Ava gave me one of those names, or perhaps something more unique.

"Taissa" she replies almost surprised.

"Kaala!" I call out and Issa looks about surprised and doesn't flinch when she sees Kaala surprising me. Kaala walks out and I set down the pail of water and she looks at me and when she looks at Issa she tilts her head and I watch Issa look at the wolf. "You're not afraid" I say impressed as Issa sets down the pail of water.

"Gaia and Lyska are full of wolves." she smiles and looks back at me. "They're nicer than humans"

"They are" I pet Kaala.

"Does she not drink at the river?" Issa asks.

"She does. But this is for if she needs it" I shrug. I turn to Kaala "I'll see you later" I kiss the top of her head and stand up straight "Come on" I guide as we exit the gate and walk towards the training grounds. "Have you fought before?"

"Yes" she replies.

"What Battalion?" I check.

"I fought alongside Nerak" she says after a pause.

"You did?" I ask curious and surprised and she nods smiling. "Well, he'll be glad to see you then. He misses Lyska. I can tell. Even though he doesn't express it. We all miss home" she swallows hard looking at me. I may have been hallucinating but I thought her eyes changed to a different shade of blue. I shake out of my thought and introduce her to Hamra so she could be put on roll. I look at her one last time before heading back to the Palace. I felt like I knew her. The same feeling I got with Nerak.

Things had changed since the attack. We had gotten word about Luka's army on earth. They were coming for Ayra. Some say they had seen Luka himself. Some say they've seen his sons. Hal was strengthening his forces on this side of the border. Protecting the Gaian and Ayrian side from any intrusion of Luka's army. He believed he could. But Luka was a God. Although Hal was regarded as one of the greatest warriors of our time in the nine kingdoms, he was still a mere mortal.
