Khaleesi's POV

Walking into our classroom is so warm after the wintry chill outside. Mr. Dallas must have stayed late last night, yesterday it was all about autumn and now it's the holiday season everywhere I look. I pause, suddenly feeling lighter, a smile spreading over my face like it belongs there. I take my jacket off and place it in the cloakroom, my cheeks rosy. The air has a cinnamon perfume and already the room is mostly full. So many friends in one place, I guess that's why my smile has such staying power today.

"Hey girly" Sarah waves at me as I walk to my desk.

"Hey, why does it feel so warm and smell good in here?" I ask looking around, watching other students walk in.

"We don't know, maybe Mr. Dallas is in a good mood!" Sarah smirks.

I roll my eyes knowing what she meant by that, I just shrugged it off. Mr. Dallas slowly walks in placing his bag on his desk. He had the look of one who had woken up one spring morning to find that their youth had passed by before they had had any fun. He gazed at the class. The lesson poured out from his mouth in a raspy tone making every girl in the class sigh in satisfaction.

"How long did World War 1 last?" Mr. Dallas asks as he sits on his desk.

Almost everyone raised their hand, including Sarah but I refused to prove Sarah was right. Mr. Dallas chuckled at everyone raising their hand, eager to be called on. For a moment, in his little staring contest with the rest of the class I didn't realize I was staring at him. Making eye contact I quickly take my eyes off of him, "Khaleesi!"

Shit!

"Would you care to answer?" He says. Once again everyone in the class turned to look at me.

"It's lasted from July 28th 1914." I explain. Mr. Dallas looking shocked that I had answered his question without arguing or dropping the f-bomb.

"That's correct....Khaleesi" he smiles. I smile back knowing i was smiling because he was smiling at me. Making my heart skip a beat

Fuck.

After class I walked over to the bathroom and washed my face, it didn't take much for the water to wake me up and snap me out of my daze. Taking a paper towel I pat my face down and to my surprise Sarah standing right by me.

"He is so into you!" Sarah chirps.

"He's a teacher Sarah, drop it. Now" I say. Sarah gives me a stare and walks out of the bathroom. I scuff at myself and look back into the mirror. Looking at my pale face I glance down at my pocket and realize I didn't have my phone.

I sigh.

I left my phone in Mr. Dallas's class.
