I trail behind Raven as we step into the nearly empty Drop-ship—the only person being Monty, who was tinkering with the comms system, a staticky jumble of nothing spewing from the speaker.

"We found some good antenna wire for the radios. This guy was using it to fix his bed—you find anything good from the Exodus ship wreckage?" Raven spews, setting the wire down.

I had no idea that they went back to the wreck—probably because they didn't want to tell me and instead, put me with Bellamy so he could babysit me.

I didn't want to think about either things.

Bellamy confused me.

My father was... my father. And dead.

"Yeah." Monty responds. "Data log. Wanna hear something weird?"

The boy uses one of his tools and presses something on the comms. For a second, nothing. Then, a small trill emits from the box, almost like a clicking noise.

"Interference." I note. "Weird."

"Wait. It gets weirder." Monty continues. "When the signal hit, their navigation system went nuts. They never got it back, and then, boom. It's like something was jamming the signal."

A sick feeling fills my stomach.

"That is weird." Raven claims. "It also makes no sense whatsoever. No. Pull the drive-in speakers."

"Raven, you wanna strip it?" I inquire, furrowing my brows, same as the younger boy across the table.

"We'll never find out why they crashed." Monty adds, throwing me a small glance.

"We need every component we can get our hands on if we wanna finish the walkies..." Raven explains, trailing off as her eyes find the radio station. "And I need the radio."

"No way-" Monty butts, standing up. "How are we supposed to contact The Ark?"

Raven glances at me, before flipping the 'on' switch. Static fills the air.

"The Ark's not there. You're listening to a hole in the sky." She deadpans, reaching for the system.

"Raven." I cut sharply, shaking my head in Monty's direction.

Monty takes her wrist before she tears it off. "Hey, my family is up there."

"I'm sorry." She responds—not sounding too sorry—as she rips the wires out, cutting any communication possible to The Ark.

Distance voices speak out—the rest of the groups arriving back from hunting.

"I'll go check in—make sure everyone's back. Finish here and meet me out there in five?" I anxiously say, wanting to get away from the talk about The Ark.

Raven nods, and I make my way outside into the dark. I spend a few minutes checking in with kids, mentally marking who was back and then directing them to go bring their kills wherever they needed to be. I stand near Murphy, who was already gutting a fish.

"Hey." I say. "You see Clarke and Finn?"

"Nope." The boy looks up, eyes slightly fluttering behind me as I feel a presence step up. "Probably somewhere out screwing."

I gnaw on the inside of my cheek as the raven-haired girls eyes dart between us.

She leaves without another word, going hell knows where.

Something tugs at my gut—a growing feeling that Clarke and Finn weren't safe.

A hour. I tell myself. I give them an hour.

☁︎︎ ☁︎︎ ☁︎︎

The hour passes by ever so slow. I glance up from my small fire every couple of seconds, watching the gate.

Nothing. No one.

Something was seriously wrong. This wasn't Clarke. I knew Clarke. She wouldn't do this. Something wasn't right. I gingerly stand from my log, making my way towards Bellamy's tent, looking towards the ground as I push the flap of his tent in.

"Hey, Belly? Can we talk about-"

Holy shit.

My mouth drops open as I come face to face with a surprised, shirtless Raven, who was now covering her chest with crossed arms. On the ground, laid a shirtless (and probably pant-less) Bellamy, a blanket pulled up to his waist. They both stare at me with equal amounts of shock. A scorned laugh starts to escape my throat, which soon turns into full-fledged chortle. Both shirtless people turn their shock into annoyance, Raven dropping her arms from her chest and picking her bra up, giving me a deadly look as she pulls it over her body.

"Shit- I'm sorry-" I say, trying to contain my laugher. "This isn't funny."

Raven scoffs as she pulls the shirt on and Bellamy places a makeshift pillow across his face and groans.

"Seriously, Raven. I'm proud of you for choosing to move on," I start. "But Bellamy?"

She pushes past me as she aims for the exit, purposely bumping my shoulder a little harder than necessary. "Go fuck yourself, Kane."

"I don't know," I call after the girl that just left the tent. "Maybe I should ask Bellamy to do it for me!"

I tilt my head at Bellamy, pressing my lips together to prevent a smile.

"Don't say anything, Kane." he says lowly, removing the pillow from his face.

"I wasn't going to." I bite the inside of my cheek, throwing my hands up defensively. "Get dressed, Dickhead. Meet me at the Dropship in five. We need to talk."

I turn to leave, pausing at the entrance and looking back. "And Bellamy, you seriously need to stop fucking random girls. It messes them up."

He scoffs and throws something balled up at me, to which I catch without a second thought. The fabric unravels in my hand, revealing a pair of boxers. I shriek, immediately dropping the fabric.

"You're disgusting! I hate you!" I rub my hand on my pants, desperately trying to clean them.

"Get outta here, Badass."

This time, I actually leave, still rubbing my hand on my jeans as my other hand gives him the finger.

"Gross, gross, gross." I mutter as I walk through camp.

Although the interaction was quite comical, it was hard to ignore the weight on my heart and the sinking feeling in my stomach.

A tug of jealously, I realize.
