Sans knocked on the mayor's estate. "heya. it's sans and [Y/N], here to visit the kiddo." Sans called through the door. The door shot open seconds later, with the human child themself grinning in the doorway. "[Y/N]! Just the person I was thinking about! We need to talk." They pulled you inside, Sans shrugged and followed along, not particularly caring that he was being ignored. As soon as you and Sans were in Frisk's bedroom, they closed the door, locking it. "Must be serious if your locking the door." You commented, remembering the days when you would do the same as a kid. "What's up, Frisk?" You gave them your full attention. "I.. you can't tell mom or dad what I'm about to tell you, ok?"
"Cross my heart." You drew an X over your chest. "ya already know i'm saying nothing." They nodded. "I'm thinking of becoming a racer."
"neat."
"Up to the challenge? Once you go outlaw, it'd difficult, if not impossible, to go back." Sans glanced at you. "I don't know yet, I'm still thinking. I've heard good things though, and the newspapers are always mentioning this impossible to catch racer."🏁🏁🏁
You knew exactly who they were talking about. The Ghost. "Impossible to catch, huh?" As far as you knew, that was 100% correct. Between his skill, his custom Charger, and his magic it was next to impossible to catch such a guy. "Well... as long as we are on the topic then... I wasn't exactly honest with you before."
"You... weren't?" They asked. "If you're thinking about it, what do you want to know about racing? Surely you didn't think my car was just for show." Their jaw dropped, indicating that is exactly what they'd been thinking. "This is our secret though." They nodded quickly. "Is headline guy really impossible to catch?"
"Ghost? Yeah, I'd say so. Very few have ever beat him. He's considered the father of street racing."
"Ghost..? You know him personally?" You nodded. "Yeah, actually.. I kinda have a crush on him.." They gasped dramatically. "Why don't you ask him out?!"
"Because.." You gaze drifted to Sans, who looked like he was asleep... while standing. "I also have a crush on someone else and I can't choose." They followed your gaze and became even more shocked.🏁🏁🏁
"S-Sans? Why?! He doesn't seem like the type for.." They trailed off, uncertain of how to put it. "A street racer like myself?" They nodded at your statement. "That's exactly why. It's good to slow down once in awhile. Not to mention he's funny, quirky, cute, and knows Grillby."
"What's the relevance of that?"
"Nevermind." You waved off the last one. "Ok.. why do you like the Ghost?"
"Because we have a lot in common, I love the mystery around him, we are fellow outlaws and racers, and he's very generous." You concluded. Frisk hummed. "You are in a pickle, huh." You sighed. "Yeah.."
"Well, what is your soul telling you?"🏁🏁🏁
You groaned and flopped on Frisk's bed. "My soul can't decide either! Trust me, I tried." They sat on their bed as well. "Surely you feel more drawn to one than the other." You shook you head. "I feel equally drawn to both of them, it's almost like..." It was your turn to trail off. No freaking way. "Almost like?" Frisk prompted. "I-I'll get back to you. I gotta just- See you later." You left in a hurry, not noticing that Sans grin had widened considerably. Yes way.
🏁🏁🏁
You destroyed your room looking for something to write on and something to write with. How'd it take this long? The comments, the nickname, the power. It all made so much sense now! Sans was the only monster you knew who could teleport. They were around the same height too. Both had said the same exact words, testing the waters. Sans commented on how you reminded him of a fox, and Ghost started calling you Vixen. The question was, which was the real him? The lazy guy he was during the day? Or the speed demon he became at night? Other thing. Now you knew why he kept the street identity. It was for Papyrus. His credibility as an officer. No academy would accept him, knowing his brother was an outlaw. So he hid as the persona of The Ghost. He is such a good brother. "I can't wait to see him tonight."
