Chapter 21

The goddess of luck was truly on your side as on that very moment, your teachers unexpectedly set their foot into the coffee shop. Joong ki hid his face under his coat seeing his students. He felt like a teenager caught having sex by his parents. Ji hyo tsked and pulled his coat away interlocking their arms. With a proud smile she approached the students who greeted politely.

They were not surprised that Ms. Ji Hyo striked the date with Joong Ki but they did not expect it to happen sooner. Everyone in the school knew about the pursuit of Ms. Ji hyo and internally they shipped them.

"Good evening to you guys." She grinned at them.

A bummed Joong Ki smiled awkwardly. His eyes roamed on their drinks. "Eunwoo. Jungkook. You guys should not drink this unhealthy junk. You know how important it is to maintain an athlete's body." He scolded completely forgetting that he was so shy a few seconds ago.

"Yes coach." Jungkook said.

Joong Ki turned to see Ji Hyo smiling at him proudly. She really liked how serious he was about sports and health. Even the national hockey team's coach wouldn't be that passionate. "Right. You kids carry on. Joong Ki and I are on a date so we will go ahead." She bragged pulling him away from the group of friends.

"Ms. Ji Hyo is really something." Rosè laughed. You all agreed unanimously that she was a unique personality and with her pairing with Joong Ki was a match made in heaven.

The table was small and it kept making your knee collide with Jungkook's. You shifted a little to prevent it but Jungkook placed his hand on your thigh groping it. You tried not to make any reaction to cause any suspicion.

In the meantime Ji Hyo was having the time of her life. It was only her asking questions and him answering.Ji hyo was not bothered by it as she knew it would be hard to break his shell but she will eventually. She learned that Nabi was just a friend and their families were friends too who were hoping to set them up.

Hoseok had personally took it upon himself to serve their orders of chocolate cake, lemon tea and cappuccino since the waiters were busy in the kitchen preparing for a special occasion.

"Ji Hyo." She turned to the source of voice and gasped covering her mouth with her hand. Hoseok and her were schoolmates back in the days and to see her here today was really surprising. Ji hyo was just as shocked. She wondered how she never came across the Cafe until a student recommended it.

"Oh my god. Hoseok." She stood up and hugged him.

"I can't believe I met you now. It's been years."

"Me too."

"Where have been all this time?"

"I am teaching English at Seoul High School. I never thought that you would be the owner of the shop or I would have I come here long back."

Hoseok flashed the brightest smile much to the annoyance of Joong Ki who felt like a third wheeler on his own date.
"Better late than never. Hope you enjoy your time here. If you need anything, just call me." He bowed his head in acknowledgement to Joong Ki before leaving.

A few hours passed and the sun had set. There was progress on a date while an eerie tension brewed between Jungkook and y/n. To make it worse, Rosè left for the loo for the third time and Eunwoo had to attend a call. You fidgeted with your fingers while Jungkook tapped his feet. Weird how difficult it was for the two of you to even make a simple conversation but could easily let your organs mingle in pleasure.

"Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear y/n. Happy birthday to you." You looked behind you in puzzlement. Hoseok had a big cake on a tray that he was pulling. Rosè and Eunwoo just behind him. Taehyung bursted the party pooper causing the glittery decorations to fall on you like rain.

It was your birthday and it slipped your mind.

You felt your eyes growing glossy. This was the first time as a grown up that your birthday was being celebrated. The last was before your father left you and your family. You don't remember his face as you were too young but you remember the good times you and your family had once upon a time.

"Oh y/n. Don't be emotional on such a joyous occasion." Irene hugged you as always doing the job of comforting you.

"Yeah. You know how hard it was for me to keep secrets." Taehyung pouted. He was too cute and you couldn't help but chuckle. Each on of them wished you again individually and gave you a gift. Jungkook felt weird to be standing there. He didn't know it was your birthday and he felt like it was not his priority to do so. But he felt a strange guilt for not keeping it mind and buying a gift for you like others.

Joong Ki and Ji hyo joined the party afterwards and wished you. They apologized for not getting a gift but promised to give you something on Monday despite your refutation.

Everyone was now seated surrounding the tables that were joined together considering the large number of people. You unwrapped the first gift and it was a shopping voucher to Louis Vuitton by Hoseok. Irene had gifted you a makeup set while her boyfriend got you his own favorite painting. Rosè had got you hair accessories. You were unwrapping the small gift by Eunwoo.

"A phone." You felt a little burdened by such a expensive gift.

"Don't reject it y/n. I will be very sad if you don't keep it." Eunwoo sensed that you were too humble to accept it so he tried his best to persuade you. You had no choice but to accept it.

"There is one more." Hoseok said. He sprinted to the cashier and picked a gift and came back to give it to you. You wondered who gave it as you tore the shiny wrapper. Your mouth parted to see a HP laptop with a note on top of it.

A soft smile creeped on your face. Hoseok told you that Jin had left the gift early in the morning before heading to the hospital. He would have loved to join the party but he had a long shift during that period.The rest of the party, you played games and bonded together. Once  in a while you feel a pair of eyes piercing at you but you ignored it and enjoyed your special day with your special bunch of people.
