Right there in front of me, was her. I don’t know why or when this happened. Why did it have to be her? Right there in front of me was Kaede Akamatsu, she was my only friend upon entering this academy… and now she was hanging above a giant piano. Her body swayed so slowly, before the piano had closed, crushing her and a Monokub in the process. I was at a loss for words, it was a traumatic experience for everyone. We were forced to watch our used to be friend… get executed.

Her twisted execution was thought of by Monokuma. She was held up by a rope, a metal clasp-like collar around her neck. Before we knew it, Monokuma swung his arms back and forth, as if being the conductor in an orchestra. The worst part was, he was using her to play the giant piano… so every time a key was played, she was lifted into the air, hanging her each time. It was… traumatizing… he wasn’t even playing the song correctly… and she’s a pianist. That’s… just messed up.

Tears ran down my cheeks as I watched her go back and forth. It was… so brutal. No human deserves this. I turned my head to the side and lowered my cap, so nobody could see my eyes. I heard cries and sniffles from my classmates as well. They all loved her just as much as I did, and now we were forced to watch her die. This is just… too much.

It feels like just moments ago, she was smiling and giggling as we all hung out together. Where did we go wrong? She was so sweet and caring. She was what held us together. How did we come to the conclusion that she had killed Rantaro Amami? Curse this stupid killing game…

                        …

“Shuichi! Shuichi hey! Hey!” I snapped out of my trance as someone vigorously shook me, I looked to my side, and there she was, Kaede… I forgot for a second that everyone was alive. All my friends who were executed and murdered… they’re all still here. I was forever glad the killing game was only a simulation, however all the memories from it still remain in our minds.

I shook my head, giving her a small smile, “Wha? S-sorry, What were you saying?” I sweatdropped, seeing the pianist pout.

“Were you seriously not listening to me?” She sighs with a facepalm, “Geez Shuichi. How could you forget we were all supposed to meet at the beach today!?”

The beach… I had forgotten completely about it. Just the other day, both Kokichi and Kaede had begged me to come along, and of course I couldn’t say no.

“Ah- Sorry, I had forgotten.” I chuckled nervously, seeing the pianist grab onto my hand rather tightly.

“Well then you’ll remember now cause that’s where we’re going~!” She smiled, although her voice had a slight sense of anger in it. Oops…

“So suck it up and let’s go! Stop being such a mopey emo boy~” She let go of my hand and stuck her tongue out at me before running off. She really pulled that card… I didn’t expect that to come from her at all.

“I- Hey! I’m not emo!” I ran after her, “Kaede wait up! Wait for me!” I shouted ahead to the pianist, who wasn’t that far ahead of me.
