Chapter 4 - Innocence

Author's note: I'm ignoring Izuku's mom (Inko Midoriya) because I don't know how to work it in the story, so yeah.

Aizawa POV

Fuck.

After listening to Tenya saying what we missed, I had to inform principal Nezu as soon as possible. I ran out of the dorm rooms so fast that It was like I've never felt fatigued in my life.

I swung up to the principal's floor as fast as I could, surprising a few groups of students as I flew past them.

'You should have gone with your gut, You should have gone with your gut!' I screamed internally. When Izuku was on the ground, I should have paid more attention to his look of innocence. I'm a failure as a homeroom teacher, and as a pro hero.

When I got up to Nezu's door. I kicked it open with so much force that I'm surprised it didn't break.

"Ghah!" said Nezu, startled by my entrance, not that I blame him for it. He regained his composure and angrily said "Aizawa, while I would love to scold you on the manners of that entrance, the fact that you did this means that this is something important."

I then explained to him what the students told me and he broke his teacup at the revelation that he missed something as obvious as that. "H-H-How?" he was now shaking, "how did we, how did I..." Just then he snapped back into his chair and said "Detective Tsukauchi, why didn't we call him!" After realizing what he said, I wanted to punch myself in the face.

Nezu then said, "We just ripped his torch, and left him alone in a cave." While I was confused by his analogy, I understood what he meant.

Nezu then made 7 calls in the following 30 minutes. Before telling me to set up a meeting with the rest of the UA teachers. I nodded and ran out, first going by the dorms and saying to Tenya "get to class and take it as a study period until I'm back." Then I left to gather all the other teachers.

Timeskip 30 minutes

Nezu POV

Since we are in the meeting room, every teacher is looking at why I pulled them out for this.

"This better be good," said Vlad king before I coughed signaling that I was about to begin.

"Now now, I've called you here today to discuss someone" I checked that they were all paying attention, then continued. "That being former class 1-A student Izuku Midoriya and his recent expulsion due to being a traitor." Everyone nodded and so I continued, "new evidence surfaced that proves him innocent." Everyone opened their eyes, especially All might who said, "really?" "Really, All might, he was framed" I replied, "however I have less-than-pleasant news to say." Everyone started to pay close attention.

"After calling the directors of Tartarus, I've been informed that the inmate known as Izuku is missing." Silence, I continue "in fact, he never reached the island. Reports recorded him jumping out of the helicopter into the sea during transport. No body was found."

Silence, deafening silence.

"So" Midnight spoke up, "if his body was never found doesn't that mean he could still be alive?" I turned to her. "At a lethal altitude, he was seen to land on his back still wearing the quirk weakening cuffs. He's presumed dead." I then continued, "the guard present in the helicopter said that he heard Izuku saying "This is why I'll die tonight" which was what made him state presumed death."

After the news settled in, Snipe spoke up. "How do we plan on sharing this information?" he asked. "It will be kept confidential, as of now, no one knows if Izuku is alive or not," I answer. "While I do sound stubborn, I would rather not let go of one of our star pupils." I finished.

"Understood," said Aizawa standing up. "Very well, you may return to your duties," I said.

Then as every teacher was preparing to leave, I spoke out on final time. "Oh and also, be careful with class 1-A now. Not only were the ones who found out the evidence close friends with Midoriya, but they also will be going through grief. As for the others, inform them that an investigation is being conducted." Everyone nods and leaves the meeting room.

"Oh god," I say to myself with a sigh. "Midoriya, please come back to us."
