Chapter 18: you have a hold on me

The next morning irina has set out to deliver the message to the clan that her father has passed away, she rode on her pa'li with Tsu'tey next to her, the four guards stood outside and opened it, the village becomes aware when they see irina her mother and a newcomer in to the village, she hops off her horse as she swallowed hard, this was something very hard for irina to even announce to the clan, She grabs Tsu'tey's hand as the walk to the center, iirin runs to hug irina "you've come back, but where's father?" She asked irina frowns, Iris knew what that look meant and it made her tear up "please...irina, don't tell me he's-he's gone," she stutters.

The village gasp as irina felt a tear fall down her face "father is gone? Forever?" Her lips quivered irina felt so heartbroken "no he is not, he is with eywa now," I said "who's going to be..Eytukan now?" One of the villagers said, my mother turns to me, "I don't know," I said Tsu'tey placed his hand on my back, "what if we could join our clans together and become one?" I ask turning to Tsu'tey to see if he would answer. He looks at me then nodded "you sure this will work irina?" He asks I nodded "from now on from this day forth you'll take orders from irina... treat her with respect or you have to answer to me," my mother said as irina looks at her in shock.

That's possible? "Mother? Is that possible?" I ask.

She chuckles "I was once the clan leader till I had you," she said, the people begin chattering amongst themselves as the glances towards Tsu'tey and irina, "are we going with you?" Iirin asks "not right now my sister, but I promise I'll be back soon, I have to prepare for this war against the sky people," I tell her, later that day irina was sitting down holding the baby girl they have not named yet as they sing to eywa, Tsu'tey was looking out to the people as they sing, irina looks down to the girls as she squirms making those cute baby noises she fell in love with, a shadow blocks the soon ca using irina and everyone to look up screaming when it was Toruk makto flew in making me propel flak back from the force in the wind.

Irina was left flabbergasted from the sight, it was him. Tsu'tey quickly grabs irina's waist pulling her back behind him as jake dismounts from Toruk, he was Toruk makto? Can't be? My eyes went wide, I hold her close to me as Jake begin to walk up to Tsu'tey "Tsu'tey son of teru... Eytukan... I need you..." Jake said "you're a great warrior and I can't do this without you," Jake says Tsu'tey looks back at Toruk then Jake "Toruk makto.. I will fly with you," he spoke, before placing hand on Jake's chest "Grace dying" he whispered Tsu'tey looks at mo'at "my friends is dying ..I beg the help of eywa," he said.

"What? How?" I ask.

"She got shot when we tried to escape the base, she took a hit in her side and she's loosing blood," he tells me, the baby begins to cry meaning she was hungry so she went to feed her, "what am I going to name you?" I ask out loud "my love" Tsu'tey walked up the rock, "yes?" I answer "are you okay?" He asks she shakes her head, "I'm scared" i whispered, he rubs my arm "reyli... you're name is going to be reyli," I said looking down at her, her small little fingers scratches against my chest aching to grabbing something so irina lifted her finger to her hands and she grabbed it squeezing, irina smile softly as she pecks her baby's knuckle.

"You already have that Mother in you irina, you love her already," Tsu'tey said, I nodded "she's grown on me.. she's so precious," I smile, then picture of her mother's face of horror and sadness replays like a tape in her mind, frowning Tsu'tey wipes a tear that was falling from her face, "what's wrong  my love?" He asks "I can't forget the look on her mother's face, w-when she told me to take care of her baby and leave her, I still feel I could've gotten her out.. what are we going to tell her she gets older?" I ask "when the time comes of age, we will tell her okay? And it's okay to feel that way, I have felt that way too, but you done all that you could.. her last thing she wanted was for you to raise reyli as your own," he says.

I nodded he pulls me close to kiss the side of my head "we are going to get through this.. we will stop the sky people for once and for all," he said to me I nodded, he pulls me close as I lay her gently on my chest, Tsu'tey grabbed her tiny little hand as he stared at her in admiration, Tsu'tey lays his head on my shoulder to get a little closer to the baby, "is she asleep?" I ask "no she's awake just looking at me," he said, she smiled a little, she squirmed kicking her little feet, she lifts up her head before it fell back down, it seems she was a newborn but only a few to a week old. She lifts her head again it falls back down, Tsu'tey chuckles "she's already trying to lift her head," he said "I know she's head butting my chest right now," irina rubs her back slowly falling asleep.

Nightfall came and it was time, irina walks down to see Jake come with Grace in his arms irina prays that she will be okay, she kneels down as her cue connection with the small veins in the ground, her eyes dilated. Irina felt like she was in a trance whispers crept around her. Tsu'tey knelt beside we begun, "heal her.. we beg of you eywa" we all said, irina eyes changed a certain color as her vision went bright, she could see a figure in the distance. I gasp when I see eywa herself and Grace, but I couldn't hear what they were saying but the look on Grace was shocked.

Like her couldn't believe what is seeing, eywa placed her on grace's forehead before everything went black, irina blinked twice before calling out to mo'at, I get up going to her "Grace?" Jake called "I'm with her Jake, she's real," she whispered oh no, she didn't make it through, "her wounds were to great.. it was not enough time," moat spoke "she's with eywa now, I seen her," I said as I took of Grace mask I frowned, I stood up to walk over to Tsu'tey he automatically wrapped his arms around in comfort.
