Chapter 3: curiousity kills

The next day Grace was taking me, norm and Jake out to adventure behind the closed gates for the first time, I was nervous. I mean what's behind the gates? I guess she'll find out when she leaves, I walk beside norm to the helicopter, the pilot who name was trudy was going to escort us there, I felt nervous but wanted to go so I just sucked it up, the the wing of the plane begins to start spinning gaining speed I was on the edge with Jake, "you ready to go Grace?" Trust asks "yea let's go," Grace tells her, the plane lifts I grabbed the handle to hold as the ground begins to get smaller the higher we go up.

"First time on helicopter?" Jake asks with a smirk "shut up Jake sully," he laughs as we fly and I was amazed by the trees, the land and the mountains. It was beautiful I wish that was like that on earth. About 20 minutes into the flight we were above a river going into a waterfall which was super big. "Woah, that's a big waterfall," I said "on your right Grace," trudy announced "got it.. look, looks like a few adults and there's juveniles," Grace points I couldn't see because I was on the other side of Jake but norm was looking curiously like he is. We did a little dive as irina gets exposed to beauty of the waterfalls.

I begin to smile in excitement as Jake shouted in enjoyment.  Once the helicopter lands Jake hops out same as irina, "turn it off we're gonna stay a while!" Grace tells trudy, irina stood behind Jake as she puts her backpack on. "Stay with the ship, one idiot with a gun is enough," she says referring to Jake but that didn't faze Jake at all, we walked through forest which was a lot different from earth's, the ecosystem is far more complex, the creatures were different and looked dangerous which left me and Jake on edge. I gasp when the things were swinging by "it's okay irina they are poleremuis, they won't hurt you," norm tells me I sigh in relief.

I walked beside Jake as he looks at me knowing I was scared, "so how will they know that we're here?" Norm asks I grew scared even more "who?" I ask nervously "I'm pretty sure they're watching us right now," Grace spoke I beg to look around, Jake noticed irina's was even more scared and he takes in the fact she has anxiety so he nudges her a bit "hey your fine, no one is gonna touch you," he tells me, I hesitantly nodding, Grace looks back looking at irina before looking ahead of her. "This is giving me..anxiety, I hate," I spoke "don't worry it's normal, when you're in a mysterious place," Jake said.

Norm and Grace stopped to test something leaving me and Jake to just sit around but Jake wasn't having it because he was already bored. He smack his lips annoyed before walking off somewhere I look between them then slowly followed him "Jake where you going?" I ask "nowhere I'm just going to check something out I'm bored," he said I decided to follow him unthinkingly, we walked into a field of weird prickly like things. Irina curiously lifts her hand to touch it but it shrinks quickly before she could even touch Jake stepped back raising a brow, he does the same and it repeats I giggle we messed around with it but that short lived when all of them shrinked revealed a big angry thing roaring at us on the other end, Jake lift his gun at it as I went behind him.

"Don't shoot! Don't shoot you'll piss him off," Grace warns "it's already pissed off," Jake said freaking out "Jake that arm is to thick trust me," he pulls back as it swinger its breaching some branches in anger, "it's a territorial threat display dont run or he'll charge," Grace spoke "so what do we do, dance with it?" Jake says sarcastically, "wouldn't that be the smartest thing, Atleast we're getting out of its territory," I said she shakes her head "just hold you ground," she says how is that supposed to work?!!!!! It begins running towards us but Jake ran it a little.

The creature stops backing up slowly, whining like it was scared, soon more of them showed up as it turns around running back to its herd, "yea get you punk ass back to mommy!" Jake said I turn my head and I felt my heart drop, I hit jakes back "Jake!" I called he turns around a frowns in fear as it jumps over them roaring at the herd, I cling to Jake "what about this one run don't run what?!" Jake shouted it turns towards us, RUN! "Run definitely run!" Jake grabs my hand as we ran, Irina and Jake run through the bamboo and barely trying to away from the large creature, we dive under a tree in hopes it won't catch us but it still presses on trying to break the branches Jake shouts at it.

The creature breaks on of them and it clawed irina's leg making her scream in pain, Jake keeps shouted as it moves, "we  to get out," I said we then run out while it chased after us, irina tries to ignore her pain in her leg, "JAKE!" I shouted as the creature swinging him around by his bookbag but Jake got out and he grabs my hand "come on!" We run till there was a ledge but I know there was bo way around so we jumped, the thanator just missed irina as they fall into the water. Irina struggles to swim up as the current push her around, she swims up but struggle to keep herself up, she nerve really knew how to swim but luckily Jake grabbed and helped her to shore.

The thanator roars angrily as he just missed his lunch, I catch my breath while Jake got up "come on irina,  let me look at it," he says she stands up limping, I sit on a rock he looks at my leg and it was cut badly  lucky nothing major,  Jake noticed my backpack I still had on "you have any bandages in there?" He asks I take it off, he opens it scavenging through it till he pulled out a bottle and bandages, he first wipes around trying to remove the blood on the woun "okay this is going to hurt but it'll clean the wound, okay?" I nodded as he slightly pours it on my wound I grunt in pain, that stings, Jake carefully wipes it before wrapping the bandage around her leg "to tight?" he asks irina shaking her head.

Jakes helps her up before he grabbed a stick sharpening it with his knife to make a spear "they are never going to find us Jake, we're out to far," irina said he huffs "yea I know and it's getting dark, which means they are going to have to go back," he says, irina gulps.
