"It's your 7th detention together this month, Sir Kim and Nishimura."
Sunoo and Ni-ki glared at each other, trying not to hit themselves in front of the teacher.
"We are so sorry, Ma'am. I'll make sure I'm never going to get detention slips ever again." Sunoo smiled as he took his bag from the chair he was sitting on for detention. "As for Ni-ki, you are free to give him as many detention slips as you want—"
Ni-ki formed a fist, ready to punch Sunoo after hearing what he said. "Do you want to die—"
"Enough. Go back to your classrooms. You should be thankful the announcement saved both of you from having 2-hour detention." The teacher stood up from her seat and pushed the two out of the detention room to go back to their classroom.
Sunoo brushed his hair through his fingers, rolling his eyes as he walked through the hallway, wholly annoyed of Ni-ki. "Don't follow me."
Ni-ki laughed, placing his hand over Sunoo's shoulders. "Why should I follow your command? I study in the same classroom, idiot."
"Stop! You're such a nuisance. I was hoping you could leave me alone and don't you dare come near me ever again. You're going to ruin my school record because of all the detentions I'm going to with you!" Sunoo opened the classroom door, being welcomed by a tight hug from his best friend.
"Hey, Sunoo!" Jungwon pulled Sunoo into a hug, ruffling the elder's hair as he laid his chin on his shoulder. "Are you okay? Did this bitch do anything to you again?" He was about to take his shoes off, but fortunately, Sunoo stopped him.
"I thought we were close, Yang Jungwon." Ni-ki pouted as he crossed his arms, convincing the two that he is sad when he isn't. "I even thought we were in the same boat in canceling Kim Sunoo together."
"The fact that you're still addressing us with our full names means we're not close." Jungwon then glanced at Sunoo with his face blushing, staring at the front door. "Ah, I think I know who's here."
Sunoo let go of Jungwon, following Sunghoon, who was walking to his place. "Hi, Sunghoon! Did you get disturbed at your winter fest practice because of the school announcement too?"
Sunghoon took off his earphones as he looked at Sunoo with a huge smile, nodding at the younger's question. "Mhm, but it's fine. Let's just hope the announcement is worth breaking our practices off."
"Are you free later?" Sunoo asked, holding onto Sunghoon's sleeve so he could talk to him before going back to his seat. "I mean, Jungwon and I have a lot of time later, so maybe we could hang out?"
"Sorry, I have things to do later." Sunghoon smiled, taking his sleeve off of Sunoo's hand gently. "Thank you for the invite, though."
Sunoo hung his head low, bowing down to Sunghoon even though he knew he shouldn't since they're in the same class level. "I'll get going now. Just remember, I'm just a phone call away." He then walked back to his seat, earning grimaces from Ni-ki and Jungwon.
"What the hell was that?" Ni-ki laughed so hard he almost fell to the floor. "Do you think Park Sunghoon will like you back? I'm cooler than him, and I don't even like you!"
"You're not part of this. Gosh, I hate it so much! You're literally in the same classroom as me, and your seat is next to mine." Sunoo rolled his eyes at Ni-ki, but then he went back to squealing. "Oh my gosh, Won! Sunghoon stared at me for the longest time in history!"
Jungwon slapped his forehead, hoping Sunoo would stop talking about Sunghoon for once. "How long was it?"
"Uh... I think it was 4 seconds." Sunoo said with the biggest smile on his face, clapping his hands in enthusiasm.
"That's so short! Look, Park Sunghoon is famous in the school, and many people have a crush on him. You can't just think he likes you back." Ni-ki teased, nudging Sunoo with his shoulder.
Sunoo took a deep breath before he looked straight into Ni-ki's eyes. "I don't need your fucking opinion!"
"What is this commotion, Sir Kim?" Their teacher entered the room, holding papers as he sat on his table. "I heard something, didn't I? Do you want to go back to the detention teacher?"
"I-it wasn't anything, sir," Sunoo replied politely, smiling brightly to convince the teacher. He then turned around to look at Ni-ki, threatening him with a fist.
The teacher took the marker and wrote essential reminders on the board. "As you all know, many of you are preparing for the winter fest diligently, so the school decided to have a school trip. Anyone can choose who they want to be partners with, so just ask them out in prom. However, the school trip will be in the country, so don't expect an overseas trip, okay?"
"Aww, isn't that boring?" Jake muttered under his breath, resting his chin on his hand. "Hee, do you think we can tell our moms to go somewhere in Europe rather than staying in the city?"
"Yeah, sure. It'll be just a couple of dollars, so I don't think our parents will get mad. Let's ditch this wretched school who can't even afford to have a school trip by the continent." Heeseung agreed as he started pulling out his phone to tell his mom about it.
Sunghoon placed his hands over his ears so he couldn't hear the two. "Can you two stop talking?"
"You're just jealous because you ain't rich." Heeseung stuck his tongue out before taking his mom's call.
"Everyone is required to come, including Sir Lee and Sim. Whoever refuses to join will get a huge deduction in their grades this semester." The teacher cleared, taking a deep breath as she watched Heeseung bring the phone down. "Yes, we're staying in Seoul, but there are a million things you can do here. Ah, I think we'll be going to the Namsan tower."
Jungwon's eyes grew huge, leaning unto Sunoo to say something. "Hey, it hasn't snowed yet. Do you think when we go to Namsan tower, we'll be able to see the first snowfall? You know, the ones they say, if you witness the first snowfall with the person you like, true love will blossom between both, and it will be long-lasting."
"That's true? Because if it is, then I can ask Hoon out!" Sunoo whisper-shouted, excited to ask Sunghoon to be with him under the first snowfall.
"Nope, it's not true." Jungwon rolled his eyes, going back to writing the reminders onto his notebook after hearing Sunoo talk about Sunghoon again. "I take back what I said."
"I'll ask Sunghoon after our classes later." Sunoo smiled, looking at the orange leaves falling from the window. Just the thought of it makes him smile.

they weren't calling each other on a first-name basis because they aren't close (this is important in the story ><), so I hope that didn't make you uncomfortable :)
