04: my sunshine

"Yang Jungwon, you'll be paired with Nishimura Riki for the school trip." Their teacher announced to the class as he started pairing those who didn't have partners yet.

"But Teacher, don't you think this is too absurd?" Jungwon scoffed as he stood up from his seat, not accepting Ni-ki as his partner. "We're not even close with each other-"

"Exactly. The two of you will be able to know more about each other through this trip. Isn't it amazing? Your partner isn't even disagreeing, right, Sir Nishimura?" Their teacher laughed, loving the idea of his students to interact more with each other.

Ni-ki just shrugged, looking at Jungwon who rolled his eyes at him. "It is an amazing idea, teacher."

"Haha, amazing! That was the last pair for the ones who didn't have partners yet. I hope you all have fun packing your things for tomorrow." Their teacher started writing down the itinerary for the class on the board so that the students know where they're going.

Jungwon fell to his seat, getting head pats from Sunoo which made him feel a little bit better. But that didn't change his feelings for how much he hated being partners with Ni-ki. "Are you going home early later? We'll have to pack and sleep well before we go to the trip tomorrow."

"Aww, I'm really sorry, Won. I'd have to go with Sunghoon later. We're buying snacks in the market so we can eat them on the way." Sunoo sighed with a smile, thinking about how amazing the trip is gonna be with his crush. "I know I haven't hung out much with you and I feel pity for you being paired with that jerk, but I promise I'll get back to you next time."

"O-oh, no need! I know you're busy with Sunghoon anyway. It doesn't seem like I have a choice either so I'll just stick with it." Jungwon slightly smiled as he brought out his notebook to write down the itinerary.

Sunghoon ruffled Sunoo's hair, giving him a lollipop to eat during class. They've been really close since the day Ni-ki took his letter which made Sunoo really happy. "Here, my sunshine. Don't forget to come by the front gate after class, okay?"

"M-my sunshine? Uhm, what did I just hear?" Ni-ki laughed as he walked towards Jungwon's table, giving him a crumpled piece of paper. No, that's not his number or the plan for the school trip, it's just a piece of paper and he wants Jungwon to throw it for him. "Since when did both of you get close?"

"What's this? Are you expecting me to throw it for you?" Jungwon stood up from his seat, throwing the paper back at Ni-ki. He then looked at Sunghoon and Sunoo before glancing back at Ni-ki. "I'm going out for a bit."

Ni-ki watched Jungwon leave the classroom, making him feel like he's done something bad enough for Jungwon to walk out but the truth is he just couldn't stand the two acting like that right next to him. "Uhh... I'll get going too. You know, I don't need problems with my school trip partner, hehe."

Sunoo just sat there, trying to process all the things that just happened within a few seconds. "Jungwon's been acting weirdly. Did one of his plants die recently?" He muttered to himself, forgetting that Sunghoon was still next to him. "Oh, Hoon! I forgot you were here, haha! What's with the my sunshine?"

"The way I want to call you." Sunghoon smiled brightly, flashing his pearly white teeth that could possibly be the cause of Sunoo's death. "So... tomorrow's the school trip. Anything you want to do after the itinerary? I mean, the places are so bad so maybe you want to go somewhere after."

"Jungwon told me something during the day the school trip was announced. He said that meeting under the first snowfall with the person you care about the most will create a long-lasting relationship between the two. It's not like I care about you more than just a friend but what are the chances, you know?" Sunoo awkwardly laughed as he told Sunghoon that he just seemed like a friend to him, putting aside his 3-year crush on this fine man.

Sunghoon laughed, wondering what to say. "Sure! I don't really know what that's supposed to mean but if it's for you, then why not?"

"Wait, you agree with what I want?" Sunoo clasped his hand over his mouth, trying his best to hide his smile and blushing face. "Oh my, Hoon. Thank you~!"

"Of course, my sunshine. I'll write the itinerary down on my notebook too so be right back." Sunghoon ruffled Sunoo's hair for the last time, winking at the younger before he went back to his place.

"You again." Jungwon crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall, staring at the ceiling to avoid eye contact with Ni-ki. "Are you so attracted to me that you're considering Sunoo as your enemy so that he'd stay away from me when I'm with you? You're crazy."

"You're the crazy one! I was just standing here giving you water then you assumed I like you. Crazy bitch, no. I haven't even liked anyone in my life." Ni-ki leaned against the wall too, looking at Jungwon sincerely. "Do you like Sunoo that much that you walked out after seeing the two of them together?"

Jungwon flinched after hearing what Ni-ki said. "W-what?! You must be really crazy, huh? I don't like Sunoo. We're just friends." He replied, voice toning down while saying the last word.

"Really?" Ni-ki looked at the ceiling too, smiling after thinking about something. "Sunoo didn't hang out with me again today. When will he look at me too-"

"Hey! Where did you see that?!" Jungwon covered Ni-ki's mouth, shocked on how he found his freedom wall entry for the winter festival. "Stalker bitch!" He then started kicking Ni-ki's ass again but at least the younger stepped away to avoid it.

"Come on, I'm in charge of the freedom wall, you know? Plus, I know your handwriting and how your face always changes when Sunoo brings up Sunghoon." Ni-ki remarked as he rubbed his butt after being kicked once.

Jungwon sat on the floor with his hands covering his face. "We're not even close yet you're the first person who found out. What am I gonna do? Am I too obvious?"

Ni-ki sat next to Jungwon, placing his head on his shoulder. "Don't worry. It's not like there's gonna be anyone who'll take him from you, I promise."
