Round 14 - Chapter 2 - The Wife's Favorite Cake

Y/N'S POV

Weiss: "Welcome home dear!" She greets happily.

We kiss and I hand her the box, making her eyes light up as she spots the logo of the bakery on it. She quickly opens it and fetches a knife, ready to devour the whole thing.

Weiss: "Oh darling! you just know how to make a good morning even bet-are you alright?" She says, cutting herself off once she notices my expression.

Y/N: "Celine is back." I say as I sit down at the kitchen table.

Weiss: "Who?"

Y/N: "Celine Strider, the woman that screamed at you in the mall when we first got together."

Weiss: "Her?! she better not have tried anything, you're mine!"

Y/N: "That's not what was going on, she killed someone."

Weiss: "What!"

Y/N: "I was already on my way home when she in the middle of the street caused someone to crash, killing them upon impact."

Weiss: "What happened after that?"

Y/N: "I thought it wiser to not stick around considering how our last meeting went and left, besides, several onlookers had already called the police by that point."

Weiss: "I see, we'll don't worry too much about it okay? the police will catch her if they haven't already."

Y/N: "You're right, let's just eat the cake."

Regaining her smile Weiss starts cutting the cake, giving each of us three pieces.

As we ate I started thinking about the date that Weiss and I have planned this evening, going out to a nice restaurant in downtown Vale. Weiss used to be crazy about fancy restaurants and dinner dates in general, but after we got together, and especially after we married she started to prefer having romantic dinners at home and overall staying in.

My mind as per usual started worrying again, wondering if it was a good idea to still go on this date now that Celine was in Vale, or if we maybe shouldn't postpone the date, on the other Weiss would probably not like it if we did, meaning I would have to lie if I wanted the date to be postponed.

I just let out a worried sigh, one that Weiss thankfully didn't pick up on, being too busy enjoying her cake while humming.
