Round 4 - Chapter 6 - Around The Campfire

Y/N'S POV

I decide that sneaking back into town is the best option, we probably wouldn't be able to race to Vale from here in time before I bleed out.

Y/N: "W-We're going back into town." I stuttered out weakly.

Namia and Emerald said something but I couldn't hear what it was, everything around me became blurry. I could feel them picking me up, a few seconds later everything goes black...

TIMESKIP

When I opened my eyes I saw the headliner of a car, as I looked around I saw that I was laying on someone's backseats. As I sat up I recognized it as Emerald's Volkswagen Dasher, slowly with my whole body still stiff I move and get out of the car.

As I look over I could see Namia, she was sitting on the ground beside a fire, facing away from me. I couldn't see Emerald anywhere, she's probably getting more wood for the fire.

As I step closer she suddenly whips around and almost shoots me, she lets out a relieved sigh when she saw that it was just me. Getting almost shot was surprisingly not my main priority, the left side of Namia's face has gotten heavily injured.

On edge I slowly sit down beside her, she didn't pay attention to me and once again looked around everywhere with the rifle, making sure no one got the jump on us. It was going to be pretty rough, but I have to ask her what the fuck happened.

Y/N: "So...what happened after I passed out?"

Namia: "We snuck back into town as you wanted...but...things didn't go well..." She said dejectedly.

Y/N: "Where's Emerald?"

Namia: "She...she didn't make it..."

I thought she was calling for help or something, maybe getting more wood for the fire, I...didn't expect this...

Y/N: "I'm-"

Namia: "I had to hold some nurses and doctors at gunpoint so they would treat you immediately, I couldn't have us lose time and get killed by the White Fang."

Y/N: "So it's safe here?"

Namia: "No, after you got treated I drove until we ran out of gas, I didn't want to pick you up until you were awake again since I didn't want to potentially hurt you."

We both sat in uncomfortable silence for the next few minutes, the weight of the situation coming down on us full force.

???: "Hello!" A voice behind us suddenly says.

Namia whips around and shoots, the person casually steps out of the way of the bullets. She was a small, smartly dressed woman with two eye colors and two-toned hair, she didn't look at all affected by what just happened.

Namia: "WHO ARE YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!" She cries out, clutching her rifle tightly.

???: "I was bored waiting for my friend to get done with his work, so I wandered around the woods, and then I saw you two..."

Y/N: "What's your name?" I asked as I pushed Namia's rifle down to not point at the woman.

???: "I'm Neo."

Y/N: "I'm Y/N and this is Namia, sorry about that, we went through some shit and are a little bit on edge right now." I explained as I rubbed Namia's shoulders to relieve some of her tension.

Neo sits down on the other side of the fire, Namia still staring at her with killing intent.

Neo: "So a nearby town is currently in flames, I assume you caught some of that?" She asked.

Namia: "Cinder..." She muttered worriedly.

Y/N: "I'm sure she'll be fine." I said, trying to be encouraging.

Namia didn't respond to me and only turned around again, looking for any potential attackers as she held the rifle up again.

Y/N: "Yeah we were almost killed by the White Fang, we're trying to get to Vale if possible."

Neo: "Well I could perhaps be of help, I'm friends with a person who runs a private freight train, you could board it to Vale."

Namia: "We're going to Vale on our own!" She snarls before looking away again.

I could also try to maybe modify the radio of the old Volkswagen to try and reach a special frequency, that way I could try and make a deal with an old acquaintance of mine to get us help, I'm not sure Namia would like that though...

I better choose to get rid of the tension between the two...
