Y/N'S POV

I need to salvage this before she's totally downtrodden, I think I know how.

Y/N: "How about I tell you a story from my past?" I asked as I turned the chair around and leaned on its back.

Amber: "Sure."

Y/N: "I've traveled a lot over the years before I settled down here, seen all kinds of stuff."

Amber: "That must've been a lot of fun."

Y/N: "Yeah...but it was also dangerous..."

She started at me questioningly, I leaned back as the memories filled my head.

Y/N: "I once went to Higanbana, a place in Mistral on the road towards the capital city of the kingdom."

Amber leaned forward, already hooked on the story.

Y/N: "I just went to a bar to have some drinks, my relaxed plan for an evening was dashed when the waitress that served me came back to my booth. She told me about how the place was troubled by some kind of creatures that are causing a lot of disappearances, none of the Huntsmen were apparently willing to help, not to mention that there weren't many currently located there anyway."

Amber: "So what did you do?"

Y/N: "At first I was skeptical, I found it weird she went to me considering I had never been to this place before and didn't know her, apparently she has heard about how I helped a settlement around the area from Grimm and bandits. So I agreed to help her, she got off her shift and walked with me to the outer edges of Higanbana..."

I couldn't help but laugh as I thought back to the location the waitress brought me to...

Y/N: "At first I couldn't help but laugh, she had brought me to the most stereotypical looking mansion ever, something straight out of a horror movie. She spotted some kind of creatures creeping around and when she followed it she saw it coming here, so now she wanted me to investigate this place."

Amber: "That does sound very fishy..."

Y/N: "Yeah it does...but I decided to humor her and went inside anyway. The place must've been abandoned for a good long time, the wind came in, everything was dirty, spiderwebs and mice shit everywhere..."

Amber: "Eww!" She said making me laugh.

Y/N: "I went through the entire first floor and didn't find anything, when I reached the stairs though I could see some blood and scratch marks. Weapons drawn I went through the second floor, when I reached the last door someone jumped and attacked me!"

Amber jumped a bit, guess my storytelling skills are on point today...

Y/N: "Some woman with a katana, tried slicing me left and right, what she didn't consider is that I brought a gun."

Amber: "Did you?"

Y/N: "Blasted her straight into the wall, her Aura was weak as shit and shattered instantly. She wasn't dead yet though, mortally injured."

Amber: "What did you do with her?"

Y/N: "I didn't get a chance to do anything before the waitress came running up the stairs, after she saw the state of the woman she spilled the truth."

Amber: "So this was a setup!" She called.

Y/N: "She explained that this woman had threatened to kill her if she didn't lure people to the mansion for her to kill, Huntsmen and Huntresses didn't believe her when she told them, and those that did try to help were killed by her."

Amber: "It is kinda shitty that she lured all those people to her, but I guess if you're afraid and trapped in a lose-lose situation anyone would do that."

Y/N: "Yeah..."

Amber: "So what happened next?"

Y/N: "The waitress picked up the katana and started wailing on the woman, I tried to stop her but when she was done...there wasn't anything...left..."

Amber: "Did you take her in?"

Y/N: "No I didn't, we gave the body to the Grimm. She took me back to the bar and bought me some beer, I got a little buzzed and then left, NEVER to return to Higanbana EVER again..."

Amber: "Wow..."

Y/N: "Yep...and that's just one story from my many travels across Remnant."

I got up and was about to leave the room when...

Amber: "H-Hey Y/N?"

Y/N: "Yeah?"

Amber: "When...When this is all over...c-could I maybe move in with you?" She asked shyly.

I was surprised, I really didn't think she'll want to stick around afterward...
