(Two months later)

Mina was asleep next to me. As usual however, I was keeping myself awake, trying to find an answer.

Mina had grown a lot more comfortable around me, and would often open up about how her back was hurting her, or if she was upset, and although I loved that, I hated seeing her in pain.

I knew we couldn't remove the metal, but if we left it a few more years, who knows how bad she could end up?

And that's when it hit me.

"WILHELMINA WAKE UP!" I screamed, making her regain consciousness in a second.

"What?!" She looked at me panicked and held onto my hand.

"I HAVE THE SOLUTION!" I screamed again, making her push me off the bed.

"Jesus Christ y/n! ," She groaned, as I tried to get back into bed with her, "it's two am," she frowned, flipping her phone over to check the time.

"Yeah I know!" I whined, as she pushed me away from her, when I tried to spoon her.

"The solution to what?" She huffed, rolling over to face me.

"Your scoliosis," I smiled.

"Sweetheart, there's no solution for my scoliosis. It is just as it is but thank you for trying," she said sadly, and took me in her arms.

"But there is," I got away from her and stood up, before pacing around the room.

"Come back to bed y/n. There's no point,"

"Yes there is! Because that metal is going to get worse and so will you!" I shouted, sadness and anger merging into one emotion.

"Yes... and?" She frowned.

"Well eventually that will... won't it?" I couldn't go on.

"Kill me? Yes. It will," she stated blankly, as if she felt nothing about anything.

"B...but I don't want t...to loose y...you," I started to cry softly and walked back over to the bed, where Wilhelmina tucked me in next to her.

"We've got a while," she whispered into my hair.

"That's not long enough," I sniffed, shuffling closer to her.

"What was your idea, sweetheart?"

"We remove the metal," I whispered.

"Y/n, you already know what happens if we do that," she sighed.

"We remove the metal and replace it with a stronger, straight, less bendable metal. If we pin your spine to it, it'll stand straight again,"

"I..." she took a moment to think, the only noise being my quiet sobs, "that could work,"

"Really?"

"Yes."
