I knocked loudly on Billie's door, standing outside in the cold.

"Hey gorgeous, what are you doing here?" Billie smiled upon seeing me.

"I just left Wilhelmina," I whispered, tears pricking my eyes.

"Oh y/n," she sighed, and pulled me inside, where she squeezed me tightly.

"I want to go back to her again Bill," I sobbed quietly.

"You know it's a bad idea, y/n," she whispered into my hair.

"But I might still love her,"

"And she might hurt you again. This is not a healthy relationship you have,"

"I know," I cried, and Bill pulled me closer.

"You can stay with me sweetheart,"

"I can?"

"Mhm," she nodded slightly, planting a small kiss on my temple.

"I love you Billie,"

"I love you too sweetheart,"

Billie had been my best friend since nursery. We immediately became inseparable from the second we met; Billie was sat alone at lunch and so was I, so the teacher put us together. We had never talked to one another, but then we smiled.

"I have jam sandwich," Billie smiled.

"I have cheese sandwich," I grinned.

"Can we swap?" Billie asked.

"Yeah," I nodded and from that point on, we became the closest friends you have ever seen.

Billie was my first non-family member I ever hugged, my first friend, my first kiss, my prom date and my partner in crime.

One day, I told her I was scared of dying without kissing someone so that night, when I was at her house, we kissed each other. It was amazing and heated, and I think it would've gone further, had we not been on our periods.

Two years later, we went to prom together and that night, both lost our v-cards to one another. I had always thought of Billie as more than a friend, and I knew she felt the same but we would never go there and risk what we had, whether we both wanted it or not.

I went upstairs to my room in Billie's house and got my onesie one, before going back downstairs to cuddle up to her on the sofa.

"So is this it then?" Billie asked after a moment's silence.

"Yes. I'm not going back," I whispered, shuffling closer to her.

"OK sweetheart," and she kissed my head softly again.

"Bill?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you remember that time we first kissed?"

"Yes," she smiled.

"And prom night?"

"Obviously," she giggled, "now I think about it, neither of us had a clue what we were doing,"

"Still wasn't bad though,"

"You were pretty good," she laughed.

"So were you," I laughed with her.

"I love you," she whispered to me.

"I love you too," and when I looked at her, tears had formed in her eyes, "hey what's wrong?" I wiped a tear as it rolled gently down her face.

"I don't like seeing you sad," she sobbed.

"Oh Billie," I laughed, pulling her closer, "you're such a Wally," (you all know what that means now so don't even ask)

"I love you more than you think," she whispered after a while.

"I know. But I do too,"

"Should we try it?"

"Let me move out of Wilhelmina's and then yes. We'll try it," I smiled down at her.

"Really?"

"Yes,"

And then she kissed me.
