After slipping into the clothes that were left on the side of the bed, Jeongin was on the search for his phone, which was thankfully by the table. He didn't expect any notifications, especially from his manager due to his surprisingly weeklong break

He hesitated on pressing the elevator button but ended up pressing it more when the mode of transportation wasn't cooperating with the said lad. His bottom lip was almost gonna burst redness from biting when he got to the breakfast lounge. There he was. Tall, pale, shredded, ink black shoulder length hair tied in a half up half down do, Hwang Hyunjin looked mature to say the least. There was a full course meal for two on the table Jeongin approached, yet the older hadn't even touched his utensils indicating that he was hoping for the younger to arrive

Rice with soup and an iced Americano for both of them, he smiled ever so gently noticing that the older still knew his favourite

"I'm glad you're comfortable enough to join me Innie, how have you been? How's work? And how is your body holding up?" He wore a genuine smile, the smile that used to make Jeongin melt every time, whenever he saw it he used to give him a peck on the cheek. Hyunjin's appearance changed quite a bit but the younger one knew his personality hadn't

"I thought you would be uncomfortable but I've been...okay? It feels nice to do what you love, and y'know how work is, being an idol with its duties. My body is holding up...just fine Hyung," He wanted to say more, he needed to. But it felt like he was rambling so he held himself back. He wanted to say that he missed him too, that his feelings never found their way out of his heart, that four years without waking up next to him made him feel lonelier even though there are millions of fans swooning around him

The taller one didn't seem to be uncomfortable, he looked like he moved on. He looked like the pain in his eyes when Jeongin left him had already passed. At least that's what Jeongin thought, he also questioned if he found someone, if he's moved on or if he's hiding it just like the younger. So many questions filling his mind, he's dozing off

"I missed you, and I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what exactly?"

He blurted out those words yet couldn't find a reason why when the older asked him, he knew what he needed to apologize for, he parted his mouth to speak but nothing came out. When he realized the older had dived into eating he just bit his lip instead, oozing blood grazing his tongue

"Sorry for leaving me? Sorry for the past? Sorry is all you can say right? 'Cause it's done, you can't change anything. Or are you saying sorry because we both got drunk last night and randomly ended up in bed together? Innie please, you're bringing trouble upon yourself when you don't need to."

The older one remained calm, how? Jeongin didn't understand why because he was definitely not calm, his palms were sweaty and his hands were shaking as he ate some of the soup. Instead of responding, he just nodded his head gently, not sure of what to do

"Ah, I'm sorry for bringing that up. Though we mustn't avoid talking about it right? I'm sure you're overwhelmed as to why I'm in Korea and all, so not today. Here, why don't we meet up sometime this week at the café we used to go to?"

He wanted to ask why the older one was so calm and collected. He wanted to ask why he's doing all of this when Jeongin should be the one putting effort. He couldn't even look at him in the eyes so he just replied with a small nod

They had the rest of their breakfast in silence, it wasn't uncomfortable yet also not so pleasant. Hyunjin gave the younger a ride back to his apartment/dorm afterwards, checking out of the hotel and going to his loft

He thought about Jeongin, most of his memories of the activity they partook in last night came flooding back. He swallowed a thick lump in his throat before hopping into the shower
