It's been nearly a week and the boys weren't talking. After Jeongin figured out that Hyunjin had been offered a paid internship in New York as a photojournalist, they had a lash out

To pass time, Hyunjin had been going to a dance studio and letting go of his situation. Even if the couple lived together, they refused to say a word to each other. All that hang on the fridge was a paper stating that their monthly rent was due

Jeongin couldn't blame the older one. He's been wanting for this opportunity before they even became a thing. He knew all about the internship and thought that Hyunjin would just decline it like the others for his sake

Hyunjin on the other hand was getting tired. He wanted to accept the internships yet he was afraid of leaving Jeongin. The younger had dreams of his own but the toxicity of the industry in Korea made it difficult. Jeongin kept auditioning but would end up failing

The younger one was crying himself to sleep and Hyunjin could hear it through the thin walls. Jeongin would push him away if he tried to comfort him. He would indicate another fight

One day, Jeongin decided to visit his boyfriend. He knew all along where the older was as Minho had been there for him. He saw the older's passion in dance, he saw how his problems didn't bother him while he pranced around the studio

He loved the older, it pained him that this would be their final hug. Their final kiss. Their final talk. He was petrified, frustrated, scared, but most of all he felt insecure and small. Not because of his boyfriend, but because he doesn't have the opportunity like Hyunjin does. He wanted the older to realize that he needed to take it, because people like Jeongin can't. They were barely out of their teenage years, Hyunjin was only twenty one and his lover was willing to let him go, wanting him to succeed as he watches from the distance

"Hyung, I'm here"

That made Hyunjin jump. He paused the music and engulfed the younger one in a hug. He could feel Jeongin's tears stain his already sweaty shirt but he didn't care

"I should've told you. I should've, I'm so sorry little one. I really am. It'll be okay, long distance will work right? We can do this because we love each other, right?"

The younger's lips quivered. His decision was final and it was for the best. He didn't want to risk long distance and he thought of himself as a distraction to the older, a mere distraction that needs to be taken care of

"That's why I'm here, Jin. To say goodbye, and to let go," The younger forced a smile. One that showed his broken heart scattered in pieces

"No. Never," Hyunjin let go of Jeongin and hurriedly got something from his duffel bag before bending down to one knee, holding a miniature box with a ring inside. The same exact ring that Jeongin has been wanting to get

"Please. I'll inform them that I can't do it. I'll do anything. Innie, don't leave me. You're all I've got, remember? Forever and always? Marry me Jeongin, Marry me," The older man was acting out of impulsiveness. He was waiting for the right time to propose but hasn't found one in three months. The older was already on the verge of tearing up

"I-i can't, Hyungie. I-i'm not ready. I'm still young. I-i can't I have to let you go, okay? I love you so much but I can't let your motivation and passion go to waste for someone you can easily replace. We're over, Jinnie." The younger cried out all of his remaining tears as he bent down to the older's level. Wiping the sweat and tears on the older's face before kissing him softly

To Hyunjin, that kiss meant nothing. His emotions took over him and he couldn't comprehend what just happened

To Jeongin, that kiss meant everything (as Cliché it sounds). It was their last one, their first in nearly a month of struggles and their final one

That day, Jeongin left to stay with Chan. He was like a big brother, always someone to rely on. Hyunjin was shattered, he ended up locking himself up in a room to stare at the ring

The following day, Jeongin received a call
