the older gulped as he paced around before opening the house door and finding a crying jisung curled up on the couch as the news played
minho closed the door gently and placed his things down, breathing deeply before taking his shoes off. the male stood in front of the boy and squatted down after turning the tv off
"hanji, i'm sorry. i should've thought about you when confronting chan hyung. i was careless enough to bring back memories you're trying to get rid of, it-"
"min min why you do... why do you love me?" the younger interrupted, looking genuine as his eyes welled up with tears once more, looking at the older
minho softened at the nickname yet bit his lip at why the younger one questioned him like that. "i love seungie because without him i wouldn't be able to see the universe the way i do. i love seungie because... because without you i wouldn't be alive."
"min min, i know what you're trying to say. i know that i'm the only reason you're alive and that's... toxic. maybe maybe we should end this?! maybe i-i can't do this anymore?!" the younger was shaking at that point, tears dripping down faster than ever as he fumbled with his words
"han jisung! i know our relationship is toxic enough! don't you see? did you just realize? fuck i've been trying to make this relationship healthy." the older fumed, wanting to control himself but never did
"then don't! let's end this! here's your fucking ring back!-" the younger was in the process of removing his engagement ring out of his left ring finger before the older stopped him
"you're just going to trash everything like that? didn't you know that even if im on call i still have the week off? did you know that i have to muster up every courage just to say sorry to you everytime that i don't give you want you fucking wanted?" the younger shrunk by how minho was certain and scary
"ji stop acting like you're the only one having troubles with this relationship . we made a promise, you made that fucking promise with me. now look at me in the eye and say it, if you can then i'm willing to let you go." he said, calming down a little bit
"w-we promised that... that" the younger looked at minho. he gulped softly as he watched the older's tears fall down slowly
he never cries. doctor lee doesn't cry and the younger knew that. jisung was scared, it was a sign. a sign that lee minho will let himself go and will never see the sun rise again
it pained the younger, but he was able to relate. no promises could ever bring his lover back. the sincerity in the older's eyes made jisung falter, he was tensed as he didn't dare to open his mouth to speak
"min min, don't cry. i'm sorry. i apologize for even daring to leave, just don't... don't cry. i'm not used to you crying and it hurts..." jisung looked to the side yet his fingers grazed over the male's cheek to wipe his tears away
"hanji, it pains me to hear that you'd be willing to. i'm scared..." the younger nodded, understanding his significant other
minho was the dominant one, and jisung liked that. the older never failed to surprise jisung at how vulnerable he can get. it proves that even the strongest can falter
the younger kissed the older's forehead as he let him cry in his arms. jisung whispered sweet nothings before they both fell asleep beside each other on the couch
it takes two to communicate. but when one is down, the other senses and most of the time feels more pain for them. love just works like that, sometimes you'd detach to everything you've built just because they're gone. how ironic
