When we got to Daniela's place, it wasn't that far - only about 20 min from my parent's house, she finally couldn't take the silence.

"Are you okay, Rosie?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I asked her.

"Well that was pretty intense, I mean, we both know how your mom's like but the fact that your dad raised his voice to finally stand up for you-"

"Daniela. I am okay. Am I glad that I was able to come here? Yes. Am I glad that my dad finally said something to mom? Obviously! But - enough about that, will you show me around?"

"Oh, of course!"

She showed me around her small but cosy apartment. It had one bedroom, living room that merged into kitchen and bathroom. Even if she didn't live here a long time, this place already looked like her - in the best way possible.

"It's really lovely," I said when we sat down on the couch, "it is really you!"

"Thanks! I wasn't sure if I'd love it here at first, but honestly, it's great. I love it here," she said smiling at me.

I heard my phone begin to ring so I went to get it from the pocket of my jacket I left in the foyer. When I finally got my phone I saw it was my dad calling me so I answered.

"Dad? Is everything okay?" I asked answering his call.

"That's what I wanted to ask you, Rosie! And I'm sorry that it was only today that stood up for you, I should have said something to her way sooner. You didn't deserve to be treated like that."

"Dad, I'm fine." I quickly said. I didn't want him to feel guilty about my mom's behaviour.

"We had a huge fight after you left and I'm not sure if your mom's going to have a party tomorrow after all."

"Why, what do you mean?"

"Well, I told your mother that if her friends going to come over tomorrow and she wants you to keep treating you like before, I'm going to leave her."

I was lost for words. While thinking about what to say I finally went back to the living room.

"Rosie? Are you still there?" my dad asked.

"Yeah, yeah, it's just a lot to take in, that's all," I said.

"I know. And could you maybe stay at Daniela's place for a bit longer than one night?"

"Yeah, I mean, I can but why?"

"I just want to give your mother time to calm down and rethink how she has treated you. Also, I want to know if she's going to choose her friend over her own family."

"Oh, okay," I just simply said. I didn't really know what else to say.

"I will call you if there is anything new. And again I'm sorry, Rosie!"

"Don't worry, everything is okay, dad!"

"I love you, honey, you know that, right?"

"I love you too, Dad!" and then the call ended.

I was really confused. I mean that was great that dad finally took my side, but threatening my mom to leave her? It was hard to imagine.
