After Rafe and I got engaged we told all of our friends and family and the word spread around quick, everybody knows about our engagement and pretty much everyone is supportive about it. I've been friends with the pogues even though I'm a "kook" for years and at first Rafe wasn't very fond of it but he supported it afterwards and he doesn't really care anymore.
The pogues being the most awesome friends as usual wanted to make a celebration party for us at the beach. Rafe and I agreed and they practically invited everyone in the outer banks. Phew okay I think we're caught up, that leads to me now getting ready for the party in my room rummaging through my closet trying to find something not to fancy but not to causal. A few minutes later I find a dress and plop it on along with some matching makeup and curling my hair.

I hear a honk outside and I look out my window to see John B's car along with Pope, JJ, and Kiara. I smile at them and give them a thumbs up through the window and grab my bag and hurry down the stairs. I open the front door and see JJ with his head out the window "hurry up!" I chuckle and he opens the door for me and I get in. "You look gorgeous!" Kiara compliments me and I smile at her "thanks, you do too!" Kiara smiles at me and continues her conversation with Pope.
"I still can't believe you're going to get married to Rafe Cameron" JJ says and I chuckle "me neither seems surreal doesn't it?" JJ laughs and agrees "that's for sure" we all continue laughing and listen to music on the way there. We arrive 15 minutes later and there's so many people here already. "Wow John B you weren't kidding when you said you invited everyone!" I say looking out the car window.
John B stops the car engine and chuckles "I know people who know people" JJ scoffs "it was all me, you're welcome" I roll my eyes at the both of them and step out of the van. I dust my dress off and head over and get greeted by a bunch of people telling me congratulations. I try my best to look for Rafe but I keep getting stopped, I start to get frustrated and interrupt this random woman talking to me about how marriage never works out "look I appreciate your concern but I have to go" she just shrugs her shoulders and walks away.
I sigh in relief and see Rafe. I feel butterflies in my stomach just by finding him until I'm about to go up to him when he turns around with a girls arm around his neck. I furrow my eyebrows and notice Rafe hasn't spotted me yet. He looks sloppy and his hair is messy, there's no way. I stomp my feet walking up to him and push the girl off "what the hell!?" Rafe looks at me and widens his eyes "a-angel?" The girl just scoffs at me and walks away.
"What were you doing with her?" I ask angrily and he gulps "look she came onto me." I look down with tears in my eyes "did you do anything with her before I got here?" I ask but don't really wanna know the answer. "Look how about we just forget this happened and go dance, we're engaged let's celebrate!" Rafe says grabbing my hand but I yank it away from his grasp and he sighs.
"Answer my question" I say coldly. A tear falls out of Rafe's eye and he nods. I gasp and cover my mouth trying not to sob. "But I swear it meant nothing!" I shake my head at him "how could you do this, we've been engaged for only 2 weeks!" Rafe caresses my cheek "baby I'm so sorry, I love you!" I scoff at his apology "no you don't!" Rafe looks around "babe everyone's looking calm down" I shake my head "oh so you're embarrassed!?" Rafe looks down "what about me huh!?" Tears are falling down Rafe's eyes and he can't even look at me.
"My fiancé cheated on me at my own engagement party!" Everyone gasps and I look at the ring. Rafe notices and shakes his head "please angel don't-" I interrupt him by taking it off and throwing it at his chest. "So much for wanting to spend the rest of my life with you" I whisper and begin to walk away "Angel please I need you!" I ignore his yelling and constant apologies, I just want to go home. I run past everyone trying to comfort me until someone stops me, the same lady from earlier.
"Didn't I tell you marriage never works?" She says with tears in her eyes. I roll my eyes and push her out of my way. "John B let's go!" I shout without looking back and get into his van. I hear running behind me and see John B, Kiara, JJ, and Pope get into the van as well. John B starts the car and I look out the window to see Rafe running at the van and he bangs on the window "angel please don't leave it was a mistake!" John B starts the car, and Rafe hears the engine "John B if you drive away I'll kill you!" Rafe yells at John B and he just scoffs and drives away with Rafe's screaming getting fainter and fainter until it just stops.
I look out the window tears constantly falling down my eyes and it's so silent. "Y/n-" JJ tries to start but I just want to be left alone "don't" I choke out still looking out the window and it immediately goes quiet in the van once again, I can't help but think
