"To Kashyyyk, we will go, '' Master Yoda said as they arrived on the first floor of the Jedi Temple.
"I hope the meeting went well?" Ryn said
Yoda nodded.
Ryn followed him as he happily waddled off the steps to greet Obi-Wan and Master Windu. All of them were on their way to the transport bay, their ship and their soldiers waiting for the order to leave the deck.
Ryn had bever been to Kashyyk, however, Master Yoda frequently boasted about his good relationship with the native wookies. Some other Jedi that she had become acquainted with had also told her stories about the trees and wildlife.
Only wishing the circumstances were better, she half-happily boarded the carrier and found her way to the far side of the Troop Transport. Looking above she grabbed the leather loop connected to the ceiling and sandwiched herself in between two of the clone soldiers, completely ignoring the seats in the middle that had been left for the Jedi. The Masters took their time to approach the ship, but when they arrived the seats were still empty. The three of them sat down, Yoda and Obi-Wan's backs to her. After some waiting, a lot of clanging, and a few beeps the ship took off and set course for the starships.
It was considerably loud aboard the Troop Transport, with all the clones eager and excited for their next battle. Among the chaos, the Jedi Masters talked amongst themselves, speaking just loud enough to be heard by each other. Even though Ryn stood next to her clone commander and though the chatter of the soldiers was ringing through her ears, she was still able to hear the conversation amongst the Jedi masters. She did not mean to pry, it was rude.... but she couldn't help herself. Among the words she heard, Anakin was brought up. She could sense the discomfort and knew that something was wrong. Others would do the same if they were in my position she thought to herself.
"Anakin did don't take to his new assignment with much enthusiasm"
"It's very dangerous putting them together" Mace Windu added
Yoda rubbed his head. He was uncomfortable and nervous.
"I don't think the boy can handle it" Windu continued
Ryns heart dropped when she heard the words "I don't trust him"
Ryn looked around, none of the clones were listening in on the conversation. She let go of the loop she was holding onto and maneuvered through the crowd. She stopped as she reached the hangar door, and once again held onto the loop above her.
"You alright maim?" The clone commander asked
Mace Windu turned around and looked at her. Ryn looked back at the commander in a moment of panic, but quickly gathered herself and pulled up a smile.
"Just wanted to get some fresh air," she said
The clone trooper nodded and went back to his business. "Just don't fall" he muttered
Mace Windu turned back around and rejoined their conversation. Ryn sighed in relief, as she realized he didn't suspect her of spying.
She looked out into the open city. The sun had begun to set and the golden sky illuminated the side of the ship. She turned her head back to the Masters, making sure she didn't turn her head too far for them to notice, but enough to hear the conversation. She could tell that something was wrong, enough to warrant stress. With the thoughts that the war was soon to end, Grievous still missing, and the upcoming battle on Kashyyyk and others. Everyone was on edge. But the Masters seemed to be focused more on the one individual, Anakin.
Obi-Wan shook his head "With all due respect, is he not the chosen one?"
"Is he not to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the force?" He continued
"As the prophecy says" Said Windu
After a long pause, Yoda Spoke. "A prophecy that misread, could have been"
Ryn took a deep breath and pulled her ears away from the conversation. She had heard enough. She swallowed hard and looked back to the outside of the carrier. The once golden sky had shifted to a dark purple. She could hear Obiwan try to defend Anakin, but she tried to ignore the rest of the conversation.
"He will not let me down......He never has"
He never has. He never will. Please be right, Obi-Wan. For all of us..... Please be right.
"Are you alright, General?" Asked the Commander
Ryn looked up to the Commander and she realized that he had seen her worried looks. She nodded.
"Thank you Faie, I'm alright"
Faie hesitantly nodded, though he could tell not all was well. He knew not to pry, and unlike Ryn, he was good at keeping himself out of others' conversations.
At last, the transport ship arrived at bay. Before the ship had even met the ground, Ryn quickly hurried out. Faie and his men were quick to follow, while a Wookie commander approached and met with them, quietly grunting to himself.
"Tarful" Yoda exclaimed as he greeted the behemoth
Tarfful grunted happily and roared with enthusiasm.
"Good to see you, it is" Yoda began "Under better circumstances, I wish"
