Authors note: super short!! This is part two of Chapter 3.
The warm breeze and smell of lumber met the squadron as the doors to their hangar opened. Ryn stepped out and planted her feet on the beach below her.
"Oh," She said "I hate sand"
The commander laughed and stepped past her. Ryn smiled and chuckled it off. It wasn't quite as bad as it was on Geonosis. Once her eyes had gotten used to the light she looked around at the scenery before her.
The planet was more beautiful than she had imagined. It was full of green and had trees that looked taller than buildings on coruscant spread throughout the land, and the lake before her shone blue. Looking up she saw wooden structures that were the wookies' houses, zip lines spread throughout the trees and connected the houses.
Round and jagged mountains scattered across the land, a winged ship flew past one of them and glided above the heads of Ryn's troops.
"Follow me" Master Yoda spoke
After climbing the steps on the side of a tree, Ryn and the others entered a wookies house that had been transformed into a base. Yoda sat as the holo table turned on, and soon the faces of all the Jedi masters became clear. Ryn sat to the side and she faced the horizon, taking in the view. Since arriving the environment had become louder, more ships had begun to arrive as the wookies were making their battle cries heard throughout the camp. The droid army was soon to arrive.
"Come, Ryn" Yoda turned to her "Listen to this, you should"
Ryn nodded and pulled herself away from the view. She moved to stand behind Yoda and looked upon the holo table full of Jedi masters. Ki-Adi-Mundi looked around to gather the attention of others.
"Palpatine thinks Grievous is on Utapau?" He began with a question
Ryn scanned the room and found Anakin. A small smile grew on her face as she looked at her friend.
"A partial message was intercepted in a diplomatic packet from the Chairman of Utapau"
Yoda Grunted "Hmmmm... act on this we must," he said
"The capture of General Grievous will end this way, Quickly and decisively we should proceed"
"The chancellor has requested....that I lead the campaign Anakin said
Yoda Narrowed his eyes and looked to the side. Ryn watched and studied him, understanding that he didn't agree with the request; no doubt, neither does the rest of the council.
"The council will make its own decision," Mace Windu said, he looked at Anakin and shook his head. "Not the chancellor"
Anakin nodded and bowed his head.
"A Master is needed, with more experience," Yoda said
Ki-Adi-Mundi nodes "I concur, Master Kenobi should go"
At the sound of this, Ryn and Anakin raised their heads. Ryn agreed, Kenobi was exceptional and would no doubt succeed, however she knew this would just make Anakin even more upset with the council. Anakin's expression was angry, though it was hard to see through the hologram was distinct enough to see, for anyone could tell that he was displeased with what the council was deciding on. To no one's surprise, the council members all nodded in agreement. Anakin watched around the room as each master spoke out with their votes. The room was filled with the words "aye" and "I agree".
Mace Windu called the end of the meeting, Ryn quickly turned away from Yoda's side and returned to the post. Looking back at the horizon she watched the small ships on the ground move to their stations. Yoda shut off his holo table and stepped off his seat. He grunted as he waddled to Ryn's side.
"Much discomfort, I feel in you" he began "worry for your friend, you do"
Ryn nodded "he is not happy with your decisions. He feels that he is ready to become a master but none of you trust him."
"He shares this with you?" He asked
"yes
"Much to learn he has..... Much to learn you do as well"
Ryn looked down at him as he mustered a smile, doing his best to speak to her as a friend and not an authority.
"Thank you, Master"
"General," Faie said as he walked up behind them. In his hands, he held a pair of binoculars.
Yoda turned to look at the general. His smile quickly faded as he went to Faie, he knew what was about to happen.
"The have powered up their main generators"
"Then now the time is, commander"
"Yes sir," he said
The alarm sounded as Ryn took a deep breath. Its cries echoed through the trees and mountains and grabbed the attention of the wookies and troops down below. The people below Ryn looked like little dots from her height, but she watched them scramble to their stations and ships. Behind a barricade a crowd of some 100 wookies gathered, their general stepped over the edge and held his staff high in the air. On the other side of the lake, a large cloud of water grew closer.
It was the droid army, their ships crawled through the waste as if it were nothing. The wookies watched eagerly, awaiting their release from the General to go into battle. For a short moment, they just watched and waited. Then, with as much might as possible, the General let out his roar. He leaped off the barrier and charged towards the wave of droids, close behind him the rest of his crew roared and charged.
"Assist down there, I want you to," Yoda told Ryn
Ryn nodded. She tore off her robes and left them on the balcony. She dashed to the nearest zipline and jumped off, the zipline creaking as she zipped down through the trees. Below her, the ground grew closer.
She eyed the ground as she viewed a few droids that had made their way to the surface. Not too far from the ground, she jumped off the zipline and ignited her lightsaber midair. In a swift kick and strike, she beheaded the droids. The Wookie it was attacking roared in thanks and charged back into the battle.
Ryn nodded at him and moved to find a place for her to be useful. Shots from the droid echoed in the distance, stray shots hit the sand below her feet. She ran across the sand and drew close to her clone's battle stations.
"Aim towards the power generator! The wookies on the front line are handling the herd. Our main goal is to deactivate them, focus your power on the horizon"
The clone commander nodded, Ryn turned to another group of clones "I need you to follow me, we assist the wookies on the frontlines"
Ryn pointed to the distance at the barrier where the Wookie chief had previously stood. "Meet me there, I'll be right behind you"
"You heard the General" The clone Commander raised his hand in the air and beckoned his brother to follow.
Ryn set her eyes on the last clone group "you guys, stay here and protect the cannons if you see a droid slip through you either turn it around or turn it to ash"
"Yes, General" They nodded and set to their stations.
Ryn turned around and rushed to meet with her soldiers at the front lines.
She passed the barricade and met with her men. The approaching separatist vehicles grew closer, wookies from above dropped down and set off their explosives. Droids hopped off of the machines that made it to the surface and began to shoot.
"It looks to me like we're winning, " The clone commander said
Ryn looked around the battlefield
"Too soon to tell. " She said.
