Wei Wuxian was in a very bad mood.
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, he was being punished by his superior to do the bidding of the evil captain of the police force, Yao Jin. And that scumbag gleefully assigned him to the most boring task of all, investigating a bomb threat that was sent to a whiny, self conceited, newly rising star in the entertainment industry, who happened to be the niece of an important political figure.
Liu Wenjing was a new rising star, and her popularity skyrocketed when she signed a deal to play a historical drama alongside the best actor of the year.
But on her first day of filming, someone put a threatening letter inside her bag and she became hysterical and called her uncle, who called Yao Jin's boss. And Yao Jin, ever the ass kisser, told Wei Wuxian to investigate and catch the perpetrator.
Wei Wuxian arrived on the set, dressed in all black. Black scuffed boots, black ripped jeans, black shirt, black leather jacket, and black hat. Overall he looked more like a celebrity rather than a cop.
He entered the closed off building, and asked the passerby where to find Liu Wenjing and he showed her his newly given police badge. After he was told where to find the actress, he walked slowly to the direction of the building where the stars' changing room were located , popped a couple of gum in his mouth and chewed it.
However, when he entered the building, he was not surprised to find the cunning Yao Jin was already there, and he looked at Wei Wuxian in disdain.
"What's taking you so long?" He barked at Wei Wuxian, exerting his authority and showed off to the gathering people. "Miss Liu is waiting for a long time already!"
Wei Wuxian ignored him and took the gum out and pressed it under the table before he walked off to the more secluded area.
"Let me see the letter." He talked to one of the people who followed him there, presumably the assistant of Liu Wenjing. She rummaged her bag and gave him a letter and Wei Wuxian, using black latex gloves he stuffed in his pocket, opened it carefully. Although he knew it was a lost cause since no one wore gloves at this point. But no harm in being cautious.
The letter was written in a block letter and obviously full of anger and hatred, judging by the pressure of each letter which almost tore the paper off.
Wei Wuxian read it a couple of times and he sensed the anger each time. After the second time, he sighed and asked for the assistant.
"When did you notice this letter?"
"It was there inside the bag when I was about to take the script out of it." She was visibly shaking at this point.
"And was the bag unsupervised? Did anyone have access to it?"
"Well it was inside Miss Liu's changing room, and anyone can access it unfortunately."
"How about…"
Wei Wuxian's words were cut off by the sound of loud wailing coming out of one of the changing rooms, obviously Liu Wenjing. He almost facepalmed himself but Yao Jin already barked his order to the people around him to protect her, so he just sighed and wondered how he got himself into this shithole.

"What's with all the commotion outside?"
Lan Wangji was mildly disturbed by the sound of people talking outside, varied from hushed tones to loud wailing.
"It seems that someone sent a threatening letter to your lead actress." Jingyi answered while poking his head to see outside. "And they called the police."
"How inconvenient." Lan Wangji sipped his freshly brewed tea. "A mere newbie but already causing a lot of trouble. Director Wang should find a more experienced actress if this keeps going. I hate any delays on my tight schedule."
"They said she has a connection to the higher up. Ooh, and the police might want to ask some questions to you, uncle."
"Mn. Fine."
Lan Wangji was actually in a good mood. He got a full week rest after taking care of his neighbour and their business, and closed off the whole floor to himself. He could even bring Xiao Bai if he wanted to. And he planned to. After all, who knew if some silver eyes intruder decided to pay him another visit when he found out what exactly happened and who caused it. And when it happened, he would pay him the humiliation back thousandfold.
He even hummed a few light tones, making Jingyi kinda scared of how happy his uncle seems.
"Uncle, you're scaring me." Jingyi took out a fresh soda from the fridge and opened it. "You look so happy lately. Anything I should know?"
"Yes. Too much soda is not good for your health. You should drink water more."
Jingyi rolled his eyes and decided to eavesdrop outside and found out more about what caused the ruckus.

Wei Wuxian was asking around the set, and he wondered how a second rate actress, who was just starting her acting career because of her connection, not based on her skills, got a threat so hateful it boggled his mind.
According to some people, her acting was not that bad, and her attitude was not like some other self conceited actresses. But the letter really confused him.
He tried to look for clues on the envelope, but it did not contain anything other than the actress' initial.
Then suddenly an inspiration hit him and he looked for Liu Wenjing's assistant and asked her for the list of the actors and actresses, as well as all the people on the set. And when his eyes caught one particular name on the list, he groaned and suspected that this was all a misunderstanding after all.
-----
"Someone's at the door."
Lan Wangji, although reading his script, was alert of his surroundings as usual.
Jingyi, who played with his phone, seemed surprised and almost dropped his phone when someone did knock on the door. He composed himself and opened the door to see a tall figure in all black with sparkling silver eyes, looked at him intensely, and broke out in a dazzling smile.
"Hi there, is Mr. Lan available? My name is Wei Wuxian and I'm with the police. I have a few questions for him if he doesn't mind answering it."
"I- uhm…"
"Let him in, Jingyi, it's fine."
Lan Wangji put the script down and lifted his eyes to see the familiar tall figure in all black and the silver eyes that haunted him ever since that fateful night, and he broke out into a dazzling smile so bright it would obliterate anyone who dared to look at him.
"This is really an unexpected surprise." Lan Wangji stood up and offered his hand to Wei Wuxian. "Nice to finally meet you… officer."
