"Wh-What do you mean? Xiao Hei…" Wei Wuxian could not finish his words since he suddenly had an epiphany. "You think Xiao Hei and I are from the same species?" He gasped. That would explain a lot of things, especially their likeness. They could pass off as brothers, twins if they were the same age. 

"Actually, there was something I needed to do." Lan Wangji grabbed Wei Wuxian's wrist and took him out of the office, ignoring Nie Huaisang.

"Well, I still have parts of the unencrypted data, I will finish it today if you want to maybe… talk. Or rest." Nie Huaisang mumbled to himself when Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian left and he continued to encrypt the rest of the data.

Lan Wangji took Wei Wuxian back to their room and took the artifact with him, then he went to Xiao Hei's playroom. Xiao Hei was playing games with Xue Yang on the big screen when they entered.

"Papa! Wei-gege!" He paused the game and stood up to jump into Wei Wuxian's arms, which earned a look from Lan Wangji. It was obvious that Xiao Hei favored Wei Wuxian more than anyone including him and it kind of pained him a little. But as long as Xiao Hei was happy, he would endure. Besides, this was Wei Wuxian, the man that he… liked.

"Hey little one." Wei Wuxian kissed Xiao Hei's forehead and he purred in happiness. He nuzzled his small head into the crook of Wei Wuxian's neck and inhaled his smell, just like Lan Wangji loved to do.

"What do you say that we celebrate tonight? Ice cream and nachos?" Xiao Bai jumped off the bed, into the floor and she pulled Lan Wangji's sleeve. She already turned back into a little girl again and now she's acting like one. 

"I agree." Wei Wuxian would love some ice cream and nachos and maybe movie nights with the kids to relax after his little adventure. "I'll make the nachos then. You know, I made a pretty mean nachos with all the zest." He tickled Xiao Hei. "Do you like nachos, little baby?"

"Yes!" He giggled and his voice caused Wei Wuxian's heart to constrict. He felt that he had some kind of a connection to the little boy, a connection that he never thought he would ever feel in his life. A family. Although he did feel the same connection with Lan Wangji too. Like he would always be there for him. At that, he had no doubt.

"I'm going to prepare the nachos. You guys, pick up the movie and the ice cream. You too, Lan Zhan. I'll be there in a minute." He squeezed Lan Wangji's hand affectionately.

Lan Wangji nodded as Wei Wuxian got out of the room to the kitchen. The staff had already retired to their quarters, so he opened the pantry and took out the tortilla chips, then he took out a box of salsa, avocados, and fresh tomatoes and diced them. He then grilled the tortilla loaded with cheese to melt them while he mashed the avocados and mixed them with lime juice, coriander and salt. He then added chopped olives, chopped bell peppers and he found ground beef so he stir fried it with the tomatoes. After he took out the tortilla and cheese, he layered the beef and added another layer of tortilla and cheese and grilled them again until all the cheese had melted beautifully.

When it came out of the oven, he looked at the loaded nachos happily and was ready to take them upstairs, when he heard someone knock at the kitchen door. He stopped then looked around, put the nachos down and he took out his gun before he opened the door. 

He knew that it was practically impossible for anyone to trespass the Lan's property, but just in case, he would like to prepare. He then walked to the door and opened it to reveal no one at the door. 

Hmm…

He took a look at the surroundings, but still he could not see anything. Then his eyes fell on the object on the floor. 

It was a small box with a red bow on top. 

Wei Wuxian took it and examined it, but there was no sender's name or to whom it was for, so he brought it inside to show it to Lan Wangji.

They were all already gathering inside the entertainment area with the huge screen opened to show them the latest Disney Marvel movie when he entered. He put the nachos on the table in the middle of the room, and he saw that everyone had brought drinks from the fridge, including beers for him. 

Wei Wuxian settled next to Lan Wangji and snuggled to him, then he remembered the box he found just now so he took it out of his pocket and showed it to Lan Wangji.

"Lan Zhan, I found this box outside just now. Do you want to open it?"

"Who sent it?" Lan Wangji took the box and opened it to reveal a perfect round stone in milky white color. 

"I have no idea. Someone was knocking on the kitchen door, but when I opened it there was no one there but this box. What is that?"

Lan Wangji took the stone and he sensed some kind of an energy from the stone, so he took it and gestured to Wei Wuxian to follow him to the library.

"We should open it inside the vault because I sense something odd with this stone." Lan Wangji took the vial of blood and opened the portal to the vault and both of them stepped inside. He kept the portal open though.

"Is it an artifact?" Wei Wuxian asked Lan Wangji while his finger hovered on top of the stone. He had this inexplicable desire to touch it, although he had no idea why.

"I think so." Lan Wangji put the artifact on the table and he walked to the open book in the middle of the room. "I will try to find out about it here. This book here contains every single artifact that the Dark King Phoenix ever had in his possession, so if it's there, we'll find out about it."

But Wei Wuxian did not hear a word that Lan Wangji just spoke to him. His ears were ringing and he had nothing else in his mind other than the single thought that he had to touch the stone.

And just like the possessed man that he was, he touched the stone, right when Lan Wangji found that the stone was actually a very dangerous artifact that could obliterate you to smithereens when it was synced with the targeted blood.

"Wei Ying! Don't touch it!" 

But it was too late.

Wei Wuxian had held the stone in his hand, as it glowed brightly, blinding the both of them.
