"So, you haven't told me, what are you?" Wei Wuxian traced Lan Wangji's impressive chest with his finger after they made love well into the morning.

"You haven't figured it out yourself? You?" Lan Wangji chuckled as he pulled Wei Wuxian closer. "I thought you already knew."

"Well, you're Xiao Hei's father, and he's the last of Dark Phoenix, but as you said, you are the protector of the Dark Phoenix. Your brother has a little tiger who could turn into a ferocious beast–you owe me a leather jacket by the way–so it depends on if Xiao Bai is really your brother's daughter."

"No, we found her around the same time as Xiao Hei, the victims of the massacre too, the last of their kinds." Lan Wangji hoisted himself to a half sitting position and took Wei Wuxian in his arms.

"Well, since the only mythical beasts I have never seen yet is a dragon, I hope you are a dragon." Wei Wuxian smirked and Lan Wangji laughed.

"Congratulations, you are correct. How's your feeling? Sleeping with the almighty white dragon? The last of his kind?"

Wei Wuxian was quiet as if he was contemplating something.

"Two questions."

"Shoot."

"One, are you able to lay eggs inside of me?"

"I told you the dragon does not lay any eggs with other species, the other species would not be able to handle the growth, except in a special case, which is too complicated to explain. Next."

"I thought that dragons had two penises, why do I only see one?" Wei Wuxian grinned.

"...please don't categorize us in the same place as lowly snakes, who need two penises to reproduce. I only need one and I am still amazed by the focus of your thoughts. Really." He chuckled and stood up. "Let's take a bath, I need to talk to my brother about the artifact, and you."

"What beast is Nie Mingjue? Jingyi? The Wens? Are the Jiangs beasts too? There's so many questions!"

"Bear, dog, wolves. Jiangs are humans, the Wen's slaves. Come, we need to make a plan before I'll let you into the Wen's mansion."

"Let me? Let me? I swear to God, Lan Zhan, you and your toxic masculinity…" Wei Wuxian mumbled but he followed Lan Wangji into the bathroom.

"Toxic masculinity?" Lan Wangji chuckled as he turned on the hot water. "It's just our way to protect someone precious to us, and it has been for thousands of years. If I came out rather… aggressively, well, I just don't like others to touch my things." He pulled Wei Wuxian inside the shower, making him yelp.

"I'm not your thing." He pouted and Lan Wangji kissed him.

"No you're not. You're mine."

Everytime. Every. Single. Goddamn. Time.

When Lan Wangji said that he's his, he melted. God, he hated that macho jerk.

"So, here's the floorplan for the Wen's mansion." Nie Mingjue opened the piece of paper on the table. "This was the newest and updated plan for the mansion, while this…" he took out another transparent paper and put it on top of the plan, "is the first floor plan that the Wen's mansion, when it was first built." 

They all huddled up to see the plan, which showed the discrepancy in a particular place.

"And that was where the vault is." Nie Mingjue pointed to the extra building underneath what appeared to be a wine cellar.

"Ooh that's a cliche, an underground bunker under the wine cellar." Wei Wuxian scoffed. "Where have I seen this before? Ooh right, in every spy movie ever made."

"Wei Ying, be nice." Lan Wangji touched Wei Wuxian's back while Nie Mingjue coughed to hide his laugh. 

"I can see why you're… enamored, Wangji." Lan Xichen looked at him in an amused expression. "He's… one of a kind."

"I'm just being honest here. I wonder if you have heard of the internet? I can find out about this in five minutes and make plans in ten. I have my share of breaking and entering vaults all around the world."

"Well, now I wonder if you really were a shadow guardian or just a plain thief." Nie Mingjue grinned. "Anyway, what you wouldn't find out is that the entrance to the wine cellar would be guarded by the Wen's elite soldiers. And they are the meanest sonofabitch that we've ever seen. How do you propose we get around that?"

"As you said, that's an underground bunker, not bomb shelter. So, as a bunker everywhere, there would be another way out. We find that, we find our way in."

"I will dig into the old tunnelway plan." Nie Mingjue nodded.

"Don't bother. Let's use my toy."
