I stare up at the apartment complex. It's been weeks since I've been here or talked to Morgan. I just wrapped up all the paperwork to get out of our lease, now I just have to get all of my stuff. Morgan has no idea, but Kat is letting me officially move in with her.

A small beep rings amongst the air, unlocking the door. I take the elevator up to the seventh floor, my heart pounding harder every second I get closer. As if he can ready my mind, I get a text from Colby.

You got this ❤️

Finally, I'm in front of the door, my keys clutched tightly in my hand.

Stepping inside, my first reaction is surprise. Jake stands over the stove, boiling some noodles. He looks up at me, "Oh hey, Y/N." He says way too casually.

"...hi?" I respond awkwardly, looking around for Morgan.

She appears from her bedroom in a rush as soon as she hears my name, "Y/N! Hey!" She dashes over to me, arms open for a hug.

I step back with rejection, narrowing my eyes at her, "I'm just here to get some of my things." I say shortly before pushing past her into my room.

Nothing has changed since I left, giving me some sense of relief. I open my closet, grabbing two suitcases.

I can feel her linger behind me, "Can we talk, please?" Her voice drowns in desperation, but who can say they're surprised by that really.

"Stay the fuck out of my way. You're on your own now, Morgan. Lease is yours." I snap, shoving clothes in my suitcase.

"W-what do you mean?"

"Maybe you'd have a brain if you weren't too busy giving it to others." My filter is gone. All of this anger I've been trapping towards her is finally unraveling.

She stands in shock as I make my way around the room, grabbing anything small enough for me to take. Once my bags are full, I stop in front of her, mere centimeters between us, "I'll be back for the furniture. And by the way, if I see your name on my boyfriend's phone even one time, I'll be back, and I won't be so civil."

Her mouth drops, and with that I storm out, slamming the door shut behind me as I go.

The weight in my chest disappears the second I get in my car. I finally feel free. I text Colby.

I did it :)

C: I'm proud of you, love! Get situated at Kat's, then come over to celebrate?

You: I'll be there around 5:00 xo

C: see you then, princess

No cars are in the driveway when I arrive, and although I'm confused I take the opportunity to snag myself a spot. The house is dark and quiet, only a slight flickering glow lighting up the blinds. I climb out and walk to the door, not bothering to knock.

Candles line the front hall, taking me back. What is all this?

I explore the first floor, seeing a few drinks lined at the bar in the living room. My head turns as I hear a thump upstairs. I follow the sound, more candles placed on the ground as if they're a guide. I tap on Colby's door, but only get silence as an answer. My heart starts pounding as anxious thoughts intrude my head. I slowly push the door open.

Colby stands with a bouquet of roses in his hands, with an even bigger smile on his face.

"Colby," I giggle, accepting the roses and bringing them to my nose, "what is all this?"

He steps up to me, letting his hands fall on my waist, sending a million butterflies swarming in my stomach, "No questions, just relax. You deserve it." He takes back the roses and lays them down on his desk before sliding off my jacket and pulling me to the edge of his bed. He sits me down and climbs behind me, resting his hands on my shoulders.

I let my head lean forward as he gives me a light massage, leaving a small trail of kisses down my neck as he does so. I hold my breath, taking in every second of this moment.

"What's gotten into you, Brock? I didn't know you were such a romantic." I tease with a smile.

He pulls my gaze towards him gently with his finger, giving me a soft kiss on my lips, "You'll see... there's still a lot you don't know about me, Y/N."

For a minute I almost forgot how mysterious and closed off he is, lately I've been learning new things about him every day.

"So show me..." I whisper, unable to hold back a seductive tone.

He smirks, his blue eyes the brightest I've ever seen them as he leans in and connects our lips once more, "Soon."

He climbs off the bed and grabs my hand, walking me back downstairs into the living room. My favorite movie is ready to be played on the tv, and my eyes go wide with excitement, "Oh my god, you remembered?" I gasp.

"Of course I did." He smiles proudly at himself. I told him about this months ago, I never knew he actually paid that much attention to me.

He pulls me down into his lap, and suddenly he looks nervous. I've never seen him nervous, "Are you okay?" I question gently.

"Yeah... I had everything planned up until now.." he trails off, swallowing hard, "Y/N... there's something I need to ask you."

If I didn't know any better, the anxiety he's having almost makes me think he's about to propose but I know that can't be it, "Of course, ask me anything." I respond, trying my best to assure him although his demeanor is making me grow nervous too.

"Since the night we met I haven't been able to get you out of my mind. And- and I've made a lot of stupid decisions trying to hide how I really feel about you. But I don't want to keep pretending those feelings don't exist. I don't want to keep pretending to be some asshole to push you away. When the truth is, I've been wanting nothing but to hold you close to me for the past few months now. I was so used to fake, I didn't take the opportunity to have something real when I should have. But... I want you Y/N. I want to make this official... I want us to be official."

Every sentence hits me harder than the last in the most chaotically beautiful way. It doesn't feel real, I almost want to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. A thousand and one responses swarm through my head, but I can only bring myself to say one little word.

"Yes!"
