TW: Panic attack

You both got dressed and were cuddling in Merrill's bed as she coddled you as you cried. She was stroking her hand up and down your back, as you were curled up in her lap, with her whispering sweet nothings, trying to calm you down. You had your tear stained face buried into her shoulder as she held you close.

"Please don't cry baby it's okay. I'm right here it's all gonna be okay."

Her sweet words were interrupted by the phone ringing downstairs. You bring your head up and look at Merrill.

"Do you think it's her?" You ask.

"Do you want me to see?"

You nodded nervously. Merrill got up and you followed her downstairs. She reached for the phone and spoke.

"Hello?...Hi Julia." She turned around and looked at you as you bit your nail. "Yes shes fine." She nodded at you, asking if you wanted to talk to her. You held your hand out to take the phone. "Yeah she's right here."

You took the phone in your hand, trying to hold back tears.

"Mom?"

"Hi honey. Are you okay?" She asked, relieved.

"That depends."

"Honey. I love you no matter what. I just needed to know you were safe."

You felt like the world was lifted off your shoulders and sighed.

"I'm completely safe. I'm here at Merrill's."

"I know. Please come home tomorrow morning okay? I don't want you riding home in the dark."

"Okay."

"...I love you." She said.

"Love you."

And with that, you hung up, putting the phone back. Merrill looked at you, with hopeful eyes.

"She said she loves me no matter what." You said looking down, slightly smiling then look back up to meet Merrill's relieved gaze. "She wants me home tomorrow morning."

Merrill pulls you into a hug and you close your eyes in relief.

"I told you everything would be alright, my love."

"I know. I should have listened."

"It's okay baby. Are you hungry?" She asked, holding your shoulders and fixing your hair. You loved her motherly tendencies. Her always treating you so sweetly. Giving you clothes, making sure you were fed, even bathing you and doing your hair, her sweet words and just how much she cared about you. If only she knew how much it meant to you. You nodded and she guided you to the kitchen with her hand resting on your bottom.

"It's only 8. Should I call in pizza?" She asks.

"Sure." You smile.

"Okay. Pepperoni?"

"Obviously." You laugh.

"Okay." She smiles. She dials the number for the pizza place and puts in our order."Okay. Thank you." She hangs up and looks at you, sitting down on the table, staring into space and biting your nail.

"Hey." She says with concern in her voice. She sits across from you and lifts your chin with her fingers. "What is it?" She asks slightly shaking her head. You slowly shrug and look back down.

"It's April vacation next week." You say quietly.

"Hm?"

"It's April vacation. I have the whole week off after tomorrow and Friday. ...And I won't even be able to see you."
