You pulled Merrill into another hug, holding back tears. You pulled away and just admired the way she looked tonight. She had her hair clipped back with her bangs swayed to the side and a beautiful blue dress with little red designs. You move her bangs to the side, gently with your index finger, making her blush.

"Merrill I can't describe how much these mean to me. ...How much you mean to me."

"These poems and drawings can't even do that for me y/n. I love you. I really do."

"I love you too."

You laugh and wipe a tear from your own face.

"We should probably get back out there." You laugh out. Merrill smiles and agrees. You both go back out to the kitchen and Julia looks confused.

"Hey are you both alright?" She asks concerned but you both laugh.

"Yeah we're fine I just- really loved Merrill's gift." You giggle out, still wiping tears. Merrill suddenly steps forward.

"Could y/n please sleep over Mrs Tyler?"

"Merrill." You say out of shock.

There was brief moment of silence between the three of you. Clyde and your dad were in the living room, still drinking, oblivious of the situation.

"...Fine." Julia says blandly.

"What?" You ask. No way. No way this was finally happening.

"You can sleepover."

You tried to hide your extreme gratitude for your mom. She had no idea how much this meant to you and Merrill. You could tell Merrill was also trying to hide a huge smile.

"Thank you Mrs Tyler." Merrill says.

"Okay I'm gonna pack." you said, turning back to your room with Merrill behind you. You started to grab your bag until you feel Merrill's arms snake around your waist and she kisses your neck. "Merrill. Wait until we get to your house please." You said with a smile. "Also...please tell me Shellie's not home." You giggled as she rests her chin on your shoulder, still holding you from behind.

"Nnnope" She giggled, kissing your neck again. She pulled away and you finished packing your bag. Merrill was looking at something on your nightstand when you stand behind her and as soon as she turns around, you press your lips against hers. She moans quietly and you take her hand, leading her out of your bedroom, leaving her all flustered.

"Bye mom. Love you." You say to Julia, kissing her goodbye.

"Bye honey. I love you. Bye Merrill."

"Bye Mrs. Tyler." Merrill smiled.

"Bye Clyde. Thanks again for the shoes."

"You're welcome y/n. Love you."

"Bye love you!!" You rush as you and Merrill make your way out the door. Merrill holds your hand as you rush through the yard, giggling. You both walk rather quickly to Merrill's house. You both were laughing as you ran down the dark road and you started breathing heavily from laughing and running so much.

"Merrill wait!" You called out with your hands on your knees, trying to catch your breath. She turns around and runs back to you with a smile and takes your arm, spinning you around. You scream as she pulls you into a hug from behind and twirls you around, extending your arm, causing you to spin away from her. She leans over laughing and you run back to her, leaping into her arms and kissing her. She spins you both around, making you scream again. She lets you go and you both walk down the street, still laughing and twirling each other like two idiots with the light provided from the occasional street lamp.
