You're falling, falling, and right before you hit the ground you snap awake letting out a little scream. Your heart thunders around in your ribcage, and you shake from the thunder crashing above you. Niall shifts next to you "Mmm (y/n)?' He murmurs. His hand finds your shaking form and he jolts up. Your breathing is ragged coming in short puffs. You reach out for him, letting him pull you into his sturdy chest. He doesn't need to ask what was wrong, he knows. He just gently strokes your hair and whispers, "I'm here." His cool breath close to your ear, tickling your neck. "I'm here, I'll keep you safe." Your breathing soon slows and you relax into his embrace, listening to his steady heartbeat, letting it soothe you "I'll keep the nightmares away, always." he whispers, watching you with soft blue eyes till you drift off peacefully.
