Kenma's POV

"I never said that...well I did but...it was just a suggestion." I nervously protested, which sounded more like a question.

"A suggestion that should've never been suggested." Kuroo sternly said. I sighed and turned away from him.

"Then what else is there? I want to come with you to LA, I do...but...school." I helplessly whispered.

"Then don't go..I'm not going to ruin your education like this..." Kuroo sighed.

"He's right, you can't just throw that away so easily, Kenma. Is this about-"

"It's not about mom, okay? It's just...nevermind..sorry." I whispered, quickly walking down the hall and into the bathroom.

"Kenma-"

Kuroo's POV

I sighed, turning back to Kaede as he groaned, pouring water into a cup and drinking it.

"It's just hard on him. He's getting better with a lot of things right now, maybe it's causing him a lot of stress." I mumbled.

"Maybe? He's been having outbursts like this for a while now. I feel like this is only happening because you are leaving to LA for collage." He sighed, finishing his cup.

"Maybe, it's probably stressful on him, knowing that he has to learn to handle things on his own, again." I whispered.

"Hey, go check up on him while you still can. He and I aren't the best with feelings like you two are." He sighed, pouring him another glass.

I nodded and slowly walked to the closed bathroom door.

I waited for a while, listening for any sounds which I couldn't hear.

"Kenma?" I finally said, getting quiet to hear a response.

It was a while before a quiet voice was heard. "Yes?" He answered.

"Can I come in?" I asked, grabbing the door knob gently.

"Yes.." He whispered, just barely making it to my ears. I waited a while before opening the door.

Kenma had been against the wall, hugging his knees tightly close to his chest.

"Hey.." I whispered, closing the door behind me as I sat down next to him.

"Hi.." He whispered back, giving me a small smile.

"Hey.." I mumbled, staring into his eyes with a small smile. I caressed his cheek and inhaled.

"It's stressful, right? Having to adapt so quickly?" I asked.

His smile dropped slowly as he rested his head on my shoulder. "Sorry, about saying that..it was nonsense. Maybe, I'm just scared of being alone, again." He whispered.

"Yeah?" I hummed.

"Yeah...It's the thought of my mom coming back...it just feels like dejavu." He mumbled.

"Hey, don't worry about that. She can't-she won't do anything to you anymore, okay?" I whispered.

He didn't say anything but slowly nodded. "Look at me." I whispered.

He slowly lifted his head, making eye contact with me. "I promise you, okay?" I softly smiled.

"Okay.." He whispered, giving me a soft smile back.

I smiled and kissed his forehead, holding him close to me.

Time skip(Graduation day)

*sorry😌✋🏽*

Still Kuroo's POV

"We're literally graduating in half an hour and you're worried about dinner?" Yaku asked, looking at Kai as he continued to brose on uber eats.

"If the man is hungry then the man is hungry." I laughed, looking at myself through the bathroom mirror.

"See? Somebody gets me. You guys already know how I eat when I'm nervous anyway." He mumbled as the bathroom door opened, revealing Lev, Kenma, and Yamamoto.

"You guys look good in those graduation suits." Yamamoto smiled, looking us all up and down.

"Yamamoto, don't forget that you're straight and thanks." Yaku laughed as Lev and Kenma watched from afar.

I looked over at Kenma as he looked at Yaku and Kai with a small smile on his face. I unconsciously smiled at the sight and walked over to them. "Captain, not so bad with the suit." Lev smiled.

I nudged him in the arm as he laughed and looked down at the floor. I frowned at bit before looking over at Kenma who had be staring at me. "Hey." I smiled, walking up to him.

"Hi." He smiled back, as I grabbed his hands.

"So...Are you happy about dating a newly out of highschool 18 year old guy who has successfully passed math with a B+ after winning a bet with you 7 months ago?" I smiled, as we both looked down at our interlocked hands.

"I mean. It's alright." He softly smiled, rolling his eyes and looking away.

"Hey, you're not funny." I smiled, pulling him into a hug. He giggled and pulled away, looking over at Lev as he smiled at Yaku from afar.

"Hey..Go help him out over there, I'm gonna go ahead and drop my things off with Kaede." He smiled, letting go of my hands slowly. I felt the cold air hit my empty hands before I turned around to Lev.

"Hey, why don't you go talk to him?" I asked, leaning on the wall next to him. He looked over at me before looking back at Yaku.

"I don't know man.." He started. "It's just, I'm gonna miss him. He's going to collage for sure and I haven't even told him about my feelings yet." Lev sighed, turning to me.

"Feelings? You like Yaku?" I asked, glancing at him as he continued to talk to Kai and Yamamoto.

"Yeah, for a while now, actually." He mumbled.

"It would be better if you told him for a graduation present." I smiled. He nodded and smiled, looking back at Yaku.

"I'll talk to the principal to see if I can announce it in public." Lev smiled. I laughed and nodded, fist bumping Lev.

Kenma's POV

I walked out of the door, letting my smile drop. I let out a sigh as I closed my eyes, leaning against the door behind me.

Okay...You got this Kenma. It'll be just fine, like he promised...

Just breathe, this is his graduation..be happy for him..

Don't be a burden, don't be scared...

I opened my eyes and swallowed the feeling of tears down my throat. I walked into the large auditorium, eventually finding Kaede as he looked at his phone. "Hey." I mumbled, sitting down beside him.

He looked over and smiled, putting his arm around my shoulder. "Hey, are they ready?" He asked, crossing his legs.

"They should be finishing up now." I mumbled, keeping my eyes glued to the stage.

"You doing okay? You know mom comes home later today-"

"I'm fine." I tensed up, forcing myself to smile at him. He gave me a small smile back before it got darker.

"Hello! Parents, Siblings, Pets, Everyone! Welcome All!" The man started. The speech went on forever and sooner than I had expected, Kuroo was walking across the stage with a bright smile on his face.

"WOOO! KUROOOO! THAT'S MY BABY!" I heard his mom shout from behind us. I got red as everyone turned around to us. "What? You would do it to, if you thought your kid would fail." She mumbled.

I chuckled as Kuroo turned to our row. "I HEARD THAT MOM!" He shouted, making the crowd burst in tears and laughter.

I smiled as he looked at me and winked. "Oh, what I'd do to not be single." Kaede sighed, rolling his eyes. I chuckled at his statement as the night went on.
