Kenma's POV

How many was that now? I've done it so many times, it's like I'm numb to the sharp feeling.

My heart hurts...It hurts so bad...

I stare at my phone, watching yet another call from Kuroo go by. I blinked, letting a small tear glide down my face.

Why am I crying so much....I'm being dramatic...I'm such a baby...

I sat up and wiped my face harshly, turning over my phone. I looked at the time.

6:59 a.m

Phone phone began to ring yet again and I sighed lightly, finally picking it up.

"H-Hello?" I answered.

"Kenma? God, you answered.." Kuroo sighed. I remained silent, waiting for him to continue.

"Yamamoto was talking about something being up with you, I just...I was scared..you know?" He mumbled.

I bit my lip, feeling a pang in my chest. "Why..." I whispered.

"U-Uh...you know...I just thought that you'd-"

"I'm not going to..I-I wasn't even thinking about doing it. Don't worry." I softly hummed.

"Okay. I'm relived. How are you doing? How's school? Do I have to come and beat someone up for you?" He asked.

I chuckled and hummed. "No, I'm fine. Really. Don't worry about me too much. Have fun with your um..friends." I mumbled.

It was quiet for a while before he continued. "Heyz, you can have friends okay? Don't think that you can't. I don't know who told you that but trust me, I don't care. Okay?" He mumbled.

I bit my lip, frowning a little as I responded. "Of course." I mumbled.

"Anyways, how are you and the team doing? You guys haven't fought already right? I think I remember Yaku talking about something going on with you and Lev." He mumbled.

"Oh..." I started. "It's my fault don't worry." I finished. There was silence on the other end of the call before a small sigh from Kuro was heard.

"Kenma, what happened?" He finally gave in.

"Nothing, I just- I don't know. I just, I tried to make friends, I really did but.." I trailed off.

"But?" He hummed into the phone.

"No one likes him..Not like I thought they would. They just, they don't want me to move on or make friends like normal people. They continue to bash me for it and it's tiring." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Yamamoto and Lev are stuck on the fact that they think that Aiko is trying to make a move on me when he's not and honestly it makes me feel bad." I mumbled, clawing my thumb with my other one.

"He's new, all he wants is friends and he can't even have that. I made a connection with him, a connection with someone other than you, and it's not even like what they think it is...I just want friends but they keep telling me that I'm wrong...I just-"

"Kenma, calm down. No one is bashing you for wanting friends. Just, try to understand them, okay? Maybe they saw or heard something about the guy. Maybe they just want you to be safe, have you thought of that?" He calmly asked.

I got quiet and let my frown fade away. "No..."  I whispered, sitting down on the edge of my bed.

"Exactly, try to understand where they are coming from. Can you promise me that you will let them explain to you?" He asked. I smiled softly before nodding.
