3rd POV

The two teenagers struggled as they lifted a unconscious Eda up the stairs, who only snored as a response.

  (Y/n) groans,"sheesh, she's a heavy sleeper as well."

"Don't worry, we're almost to her room. Hopefully she will wake up soon," Luz smiles as King opened the door for them.

The pair blinked that was infront of them: A giant LEGITIMATE nest infront of a stained window.

"... Oh my word, she really does have a nest."

Eda snores as the duo gently lays down the owl witch with a sigh of relief.

"Sorry for pushing you MS. Eda, please don't be mad when you wake up." Luz says apologetically.

"Should I nap her again?" King says with a raised clawed hand.

"Just let her rest you little goober. Come on, let's go back down stairs," Luz pats Kings head before heading out of Eda's room.

"... Do it," (Y/n) mutters to King who happily replies with a single nap to Eda's head before scurrying up to (Y/n) so he can perch onto her shoulder. The two laugh as they left to meet Luz in the living room.

"Ugh, come on! This is all she does! Why do you have to be so cryptic Owl Lady?" Luz says as she replays her video of Eda only for her view to be blocked by King's sketch pad.

"Hey, you know what's really cryptic, let me tell you the most spine chilling demon: Smoochie pie the Sweetie Baby!" There was an awkward pause, ".... He's.... He's a lot more threatening than his name implies."

"Not now King, I want to figure out this spell," Luz says before sitting on a pillow on the floor. "But if I don't have magic sack, what's the point? I will just be twirling my finger unmagically forever."

"Luz, why do you want to learn this spell so badly anyway?" King queers a glance at Luz and briefly at (Y/n) for a split second.

"We were nothing back home, humans (especially grown ups) don't exactly take it lightly for people like us to not act our age." (Y/n) flatly says as her fingers fiddled with the chain of her necklace.

"But here, becoming a witch is a chance to be someone," Luz turns her head to look at King. "Do know what it is like to have no one to take you seriously?"

King sighs, looks at (Y/n), who only avoided his gaze by looking down, but he could see the harsh understanding of what it is like for no one to truly take the liberty of being taken seriously.

"... If I help you learn that spell, could we finish our lesson?" King states as Luz quickly perks up of the suggestion.

"Oh, yes, yes, you can teach me about demons all week if you help me learn this spell," Luz smiles while King ponders on how to help.

"Well Eda said that witches used to do magic differently back in the day, so, there has to be a way, right?" (Y/n) though out loud.

King gasps, "Princess, you are a genius, and I have a theory thanks to it." King quickly draws and shows the two teens. "Every day I see Eda sneaking drinks of this special elixir, see? Then she gets a boost of energy! See?! I think that is how she gets her powers! And I know where to get some."

  "Really?" Luz says happily.

"Si," King says in a satisfied posture before Luz grabs King by the shoulders to hug him and spinning him in circles.

"Thank you so much! You are a prince!" Luz exclaims.

"Don't you mean, he's King Luz?" (Y/n) smirks as Luz gave a nervous and an embarrassed smile at her friends. "Right."

***********

After a bit of waiting, King returns with a bottle of a orange-ish yellow substance. "I got it!"

"Hold it right there little buddy," (Y/n) says as she grabs the bottle from King. "How are we not sure this is alcohol instead of a elixir?"

"I'm pretty sure that isn't alcohol (Y/n), besides, Eda doesn't drink that stuff, she says it doesn't sit well with her stomach." King reassures the (H/c) haired girl who only squints her eyes at the elixir.

"Alright, but I'm taking it first," (Y/n) says before pulling out the cork and hesitantly brought the bottle to her lips. Luz and King watched as the liquid was being tilted towards their friend's mouth, that is when a strike of thunder startled (Y/n), causing some of the elixir to stain her hoodie and necklace, then the bottle itself shattered upon contact of the ground, leaving the rest of the elixir spilt in a sickly mess.

  "...."

  "...."

  "...."

  "... Oops."

"The elixir, it's gone! THIS IS AWFUL!" Luz says in distress.

"Who even needs a light spell when we have tons of lamps?" King says before the said lamps flickers off.

"Huh, you jinxed us King, bravo." (Y/n) says in a low mutter.

"Hooty controls the house lights, he probably went to sle-" King was interrupted to a sickening crash and the familiar hoots of the said house.

"Hooty!" Luz says worryingly as the four rushed into the living room to be met with a large shadow looming over the door. It hissed at them once it took notice of their presence before darting away from sight.

"This is bad," (Y/n) says as Luz and King inspected Hooty.

"Whatever did this, escaped through the rain. What could survive that?" Luz says as realization dawned onto King.

"Oh my gosh, a Snaggleback! It feeds during the rains. It must of stumbled across our house and seen us inside!" King says in a concerned voice.

A roar brought the groups attention before seeing the shadow of the Snaggleback jumping through a window into the house.

"This got even worse," (Y/n) mutters as she rubs her temples as a sudden headache envelopes her.

"Why do you look so happy?!" Luz says to King who had a giddy light in his eyes as he giggles.

"Because this could be a lesson! This would be a great way for you to see a wild demon up close and personal." King says determinedly.

"You want to go towards those creepy sounds, that is an instant death wish in every horror film," (Y/n) exclaims, already imagining of the most gruesome ways they could get killed.

  "Yeah, no way," Luz agrees.

"What if Eda gets eaten? She is upstairs and defenseless because you knocked her out!" King argues.

"... He has a point ya know," (Y/n) sighs as she looks at Luz.

"I know...." Luz groans knowing that they had to face what was ahead of them.
