I wake up the next morning to Lucian tapping my thigh.
"Eve, your phone is ringing" he groans. I make a noice of annoyance as I roll over to pick it up. I swear I had it on silent.
My vision is too blurry from sleeping to read the caller id, but I answer it anyway, not thinking much of it.
"Hello-"
"Where the fuck are you?"
As soon as I hear his voice, I regret answering. How has he not given up by now?
"What do you want?" I sigh.
Lucian throws his arm around my waist to pull my back to his front, kissing my neck several times.
"You're not home and you're not at work, so where the fuck are you? I've texted you a hundred times" he says dramatically. I roll my eyes.
"Babe, who is it?" Luc questions sleepily. Right away, I know Grayson hears him.
"Who the fuck is that?" He spits angrily.
I laugh. He doesn't get to do this shit.
"Bye," I mutter.
"Evangeline, I swear if you fucking hang-"
He doesn't get the chance to finish his sentence before I hang up. I don't even know who he is anymore.
"Who was it?" Luc asks again. I roll over to face him, shoving myself into his arms. He runs his fingers across the bare skin of my back, his light touch giving me chills.
"Grayson" I answer. He tenses but relaxes when I kiss his chest. He already hates him and he hasn't even met him.
"Should've let me answer" he replies. I hum in agreement.
Why would Grayson still be looking for me? What could he possibly want from me now? I've said all I want to say to him.
My phone rings over and over and I think about blocking him. Just when I think I'm going to lose my mind, Luc answers it. He doesn't let him speak first.
"She's busy," he says slowly, hanging up before Grayson can reply back. I can't help but laugh at his choice of words.
"Am I?" I question. He hums.
My phone rings again, making me groan. I take it from his hands and quickly block Grayson.
"You could be" Luc trails off. I giggle and lean up to kiss him.
"Okay," I agree. He smiles into the kiss and leans in to kiss me deeper, already sliding his hands to my ass.
"Fuck yes" he hums in a singsong voice. It makes me giggle again.
