Chapter 3 - Sapphire
"Who did you get?" The principal asked Hayden after he pulled out a piece of paper from the hat.
Please don't be me. Please don't be me.
I quietly mumbled to myself. I hated everyone on the dance team but I hated the leader, Hayden, 10 times more. All his sisters were always so preppy and smelled like a whole bottle of perfume exploded on them all the time."Sapphire Holloway", Hayden spoke out loud.
No. No. No. This can't be happening. I refuse to spend time with that prick.
"You two are dismissed. Who's next?" The principal said.
I slowly got up and walked towards the door. Cato was getting up to pick up his paper. This couldn't be happening. My team looked miserable. I walked out of the hallway where Hayden was leaning on the lockers.
"I hope you know that I'm not going to be your little friend." I spat at him.
"Really? How am I going to live?" He pretended to faint.
I was about to shove him into the lockers when my team came outside followed by the dancers.
There was a clear division happening in the hallways. Everyone stood in front of their partners while the team was in a straight line. The boxers stood over the dancers like Giants but the dancers wouldn't look away, they weren't afraid of us but they should be.
I stood in front of Hayden, Xander in front of Violet, Gideon in front of Irene, Cato in front of Anastasia, and Marcus in front of one of my boxers. We continue to give each other deadly glares when the principal came out.
"Now that you all have your partners, I expect you guys to spend the remainder of this year together. Most of you are seniors so if you want to walk with your class on graduation then I expect you make this work. For those who aren't seniors, this will still be a requirement for graduation. I will be sure to contact your parents to make sure you are meeting the requirements and students please know I'm doing this as an alternative of all the costs you have given the school." Our principal said breaking up the space we created.
"I rather pay the costs then be all goody goody with them." Violet shouted.
"Ok Ms. Rogers let's see" Our principal took a clipboard and past through some papers, "For your dance team, the costs for removing paint, buying the boxing team new equipment, getting cleaning services, and paying for all the other 'pranks' you have done to them in the past, it will be 6,000 dollars."
"That's not a lot team, we can do a few car washes and raise that money together." Irene yelled out.
"I think you misunderstood me 6,000......each." The principal said and the dancer's mouths flew open.
All the boxers started laughing watching their expressions.
"You think you are any better? You guys owe 7,000 each." The principal faced us.
Each team stayed quiet, too shocked at the amount of money we owed. Yes, our parents had money but no way was everyone going to pay 7,000 dollars each.
"You have to start being better human beings to each other and the community starting today, good day." Our principal walked away leaving us there with our mouths still opened.
That's it! I was done! I turned around and grabbed Hayden by his shirt with his back towards the lockers.
"I don't like you I will never like you got it? We are not friends and I definitely don't want to spent my time with you while you dance in little circles!" I spat in his face.
"There will never be a truce between us so get your filthy paws off of me Ms. Beast!" Hayden grabbed my hands that were on his.
"Get off my brother!" Anastasia yelled but my team held all the 3 witch sisters back.
"My pleasure Mr. Beauty." I let him go.
He fixed his now wrinkled shirt and I swore his sisters gasped probably bringing out their mini irons out.
"Let's go guys." I said to my team and we walked out of the school.
We went to the parking lot where the only cars left where ours and the dancers. Some of sat on the hoods while the others stood around the cars.
"I can't believe he is making us do this!" Gideon kicked his car's tire.
Everyone nodded their heads and agreed.
The dancers came out and walked over.
"Let's go 'hangout' then asshole, I didn't go to school for almost 12 years to not walk graduation." Violet grabbed Xander hand and manuevered towards her car. He just looked back like he was yelling for help.
Everyone else started separating with their partner and the only thing that was left was Hayden and me.
He looked angrily at me and I knew that I was accomplishing at ruining his life. As soon as I was about to get into the driver's seat I looked back where Hayden was standing.
"Well get in Mr. Beauty, it's not like we have all year." I said.
But we did have all year and it was just starting.
